Bridgerton star Simone Ashley is one of the most talked-about actresses right now, and for good reason. Not only is she the star of the second season of Netflix’s hit series Bridgerton but she’s already become a fashion and beauty icon.
While Simone has gained millions of fans, she has also gained some critics after her recent appearance at the Formula One Monaco Grand Prix.
Being a celebrity, especially a female celebrity, means being constantly watched and critiqued by everyone.

If that wasn’t bad enough, let me remind you that we live in the age of social media, which means everyone sees everything, and everyone has an opinion on it.
And trust me, they will let you know exactly what they’re thinking.
The most recent example of this social media viral moment belongs to our beloved Simone Ashley, who found herself in an awkward situation at the Formula One Monaco Grand Prix.
While standing with her back to the camera alongside Euphoria star Jacob Elordi on the grid, reporter Martin Brundle approached her.
“Simone? Is this Simone?” Martin asks on live TV as the 27-year-old keeps her back to the camera. Jacob also sees the camera and moves out of the shot.
After mentioning Bridgerton , a member of Simone’s team politely tells Martin that Simone won’t be doing any TV.
“She doesn’t want to do any TV? Well, we’re kind of halfway there already,” Martin quips back.
“It’s so good to see her on the grid,” he continued. “I’m not going to push, but I’d like to have a chat with you.”
After being denied again, Martin, clearly annoyed, walks off while saying “That’s fine. Whatever.”
F1 fans and Bridgerton have taken to social media to share how they feel about the undeniably awkward interaction.
As you can imagine, the people are split.
On one hand, some thought Simone was being rude.
“Simone Ashley on the F1 grid monaco giving it …. Don’t wanna do to TV… get over yourself. You’re there exactly for that… what do you expect,” tweeted one critic.
On the other hand, many fans asked why Simone would have to do any interviews in the first place — it’s not like it’s a “Bridgerton” event.
“So rude of Martin Brundle to keep trying when she clearly doesn’t want to speak,” tweeted one fan.
“The way f1 fans are jealous that she’s got access to the grid and they don’t. Simone was nice and politely declined. Y’all need to understand what the word no means,” said another.
As far as I’m concerned, I think it’s totally unfair Simone is getting backlash for politely denying an interview when Jacob essentially ran from the cameras.

She was kind enough to say hello, and I think she’s totally entitled to use her energy how and when she likes!
