I’m the first one to admit I’m not the best DIYer . I pretty much lack the time to really get into it. But I definitely admire those who devote their entire lives to making things from scratch or upcycling stuff.
However, sometimes even the best intentions can result in a poorly conceptualized idea . I think I have found a few of them for you to check out. Take a look and have a laugh.
1. This Nightlight
Honestly, I can’t get by without a nightlight. I just don’t like bumping into furniture when I get up in the middle of the night. But I would never resort to making something as disturbing as this one.
2. This Underwear Top
You’ve got to love a girl who recycles. Am I right? However, I have an issue with the one thing she choosed to upcycle. I don’t even want to know if this was hers or some guy’s underpants.
3. This Moss Mirror
Yes, let’s make a moss mirror. Like that makes so much sense, huh? Not only it’s messy AF but imagine having to clean up after it all the time? Um, no, thanks. I’ll definitely pass on this idea.
4. This Wedding Dress
Let me ask you a question: if you had a perfectly gorgeous white wedding dress, would you let people spray-paint it? Oh, heck no! What did they do to it? It’s the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen.
5. This Fake Sunroof
I get it, not everybody can afford a car with a sunroof. But can you imagine trying to impress a girl and she asks you to open it? What are you going to say? Pretend that it’s broken? LOL!
6. This Lawnmower Bike
Is this a lawnmower or a bike or both? Ha, ha! I don’t totally understand the concept here, though. Is this supposed to be a machine for a tough guy or just a way to show off your engineering skills, huh?
7. This Accent Piece
Everybody wants to have that one accent piece in their home that people gravitate towards, no? Somehow, I don’t think this axe table will suffice here. I’m so confused just by looking at it.
8. This Denim Couch
Wow, oh, wow! Look at that. I found you a “jouch,” ha, ha! As much as I do love denim, I don’t think I would take something like this home. Were those used jeans, too? Oh, no! I don’t want to know.
9. This DIY Truck
Oh my goodness, what are we looking at here, huh? Are you telling me that somebody turned their regular sedan into a monster truck like this one? Oh, my! I literally don’t have any words to describe how I feel about this.
10. This BMW
Speaking of people who like to butcher their cars, let’s look at this BMW. Shall we? I don’t know what they were going for here, but I don’t like it one bit. It’s such a waste. Don’t you think?
11. This Underwear Set
If you, too, are obsessed with McDonald’s, you may appreciate all the work that went into making this matching set here. I have to be honest when I say, “I’m not loving it,” hee-hee. This isn’t my idea of sexy, that’s for sure.
12. This Bumper Fix
I recall I have shown you guys some unorthodox ways to use zip ties . However, when I gave you those examples, I never thought somebody would take it to this extreme. I don’t think this will hold up for too long. Do you?
13. This Steering Wheel Beautifying Job
Oh my goodness. What is up here? Is this a steering wheel somebody uses every day? Are they joking or what? I wouldn’t want to be in their position when the airbag pops out. Ouch!
14. This Lighter
At first glance, I thought this was a corn-on-the-cob lighter. And then, to my shock, I discovered the teeth. I really sure do hope they are fake, otherwise, this takes on another angle. Yikes! Are you as horrified as I am?
15. This Quilt
I really do admire people who take the time to make a quilt. I’ve seen some truly beautiful jobs out there. Sadly, I wouldn’t count this one among them. This unsuspecting family here looks quite terrifying, no?
16. This Home Extension
Just when I thought I’ve seen it all, I give you guys this invention here. From the looks of it, we can see that this was once a van of some sort. What’s the purpose of it now? I guess we’ll never know.
17. These T-Rex Pumps
I know that Halloween just went by, but I wanted to bring your attention to this idea. Perhaps these T-Rex pumps could go along with a costume you’re working on for next year. What do you think?
18. This Hose Rug
Somebody actually made a rug out of upcycled old garden hoses and zip ties. My only question is, why? I don’t see how that’s comfortable to walk on or to put any furniture on. So I’m pretty baffled.
Okay, this article proves that not everybody can successfully execute a DIY.
Why? Well, let’s just say that just because it seems like a good idea in your head doesn’t mean it will come out looking alright. To the folks here that tried and failed, I say — better luck next time.
