Chris Pratt, 43, is speaking out after being canceled in an emotional new interview.
It seems like getting called out, canceled, or mobbed by people online is part of the deal of being a celebrity these days. Guardians Of The Galaxy and Parks And Recreation star Chris Pratt is no stranger to controversy , and he’s taken the time in a new interview to speak out against the times he’s been piled-on by the Internet at large.
Chris Pratt has been called out by fans numerous times.
He’s been called out for insensitive jokes , the clothes he’s worn , and most recently for a viral post in which he thanked his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, for giving him a ‘healthy’ daughter, which some fans took to be a dig at Chris Pratt’s first wife, Anna Faris, with whom he shares son Jack, 9, who was born premature and has resulting health problems.
In a new interview, Chris has spoken out about the backlash.
“You don’t ever wanna get caught complaining or anything. ’Cause I have so many blessings. I consider everything a blessing truly in my life,” Chris told Men’s Health . “[But] why are they coming after me?”
Chris addressed the post about his children specifically.
“I said something like, ‘Find someone who looks at you the way my wife looks at me.’ And then I gave her some s**t in the thing and said, ‘But I love you. I’m so thankful for my wife—she gave me a beautiful, healthy daughter,’” he explained. “And then a bunch of articles came out and said, ‘That’s so cringeworthy.'”
“‘I can’t believe Chris Pratt would thank her for a healthy daughter when his first child was born premature. That’s such a dig at his ex-wife.'”

“And I’m like, that is [expletive] up. My son’s gonna read that one day. He’s nine. And it’s etched in digital stone. It really [expletive] bothered me, dude. I cried about it. I was like, I hate that these blessings in my life are—to the people close to me—a real burden,” he said.
Chris also addressed concerns that he’s associated with controversial church, Hillsong.
“I didn’t know that I would kind of become the face of religion when really I’m not a religious person,” he said. “I think there’s a distinction between being religious—adhering to the customs created by man, oftentimes appropriating the awe reserved for who I believe is a very real God—and using it to control people, to take money from people, to abuse children, to steal land, to justify hatred. Whatever it is.”
“The evil that’s in the heart of every single man has glommed on to the back of religion and come along for the ride.”
“I never went to Hillsong. I’ve never actually been to Hillsong. I don’t know anyone from that church,” he stated.
James Gunn, director of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, also spoke in defense of Chris in the interview.

“It absolutely infuriates me. Chris is unspeakably kind to people; he goes out of his way to help kids. He’s an especially loving father. And there’s a lot of stuff that people have literally just made up about him—about his politics, about who he is, about what he believes of other people, you know?”
