18 Questionable Cakes That Hopefully Still Passed The Taste Test

I'm the first to admit that I'm not the best at baking. If you can master that, you're pretty clever in my book. And then let's not even mention decorating those delicious creations.

That in itself is an art. Am I right? So it's no wonder that many of us have failed badly at both, but at least we tried, ha, ha!

1. This Total Resemblance

If you asked for a cake to celebrate your book being published, I hope you didn't get this. I'm not even sure what went wrong here, but this cake is scaring the bejesus out of me.

2. This Frog Disaster

Oh my goodness, what is going on here? Apparently, this lady tried to make a frog cake for my boyfriend, and now she thinks he's gonna leave her. Okay, okay, it's the thought that counts. So let's hope for the best.

3. This Driving Accident

True story, this lady was delivering a gorgeous 50th birthday polka-dot tiered cake when she had to do an unexpected U-turn. Um, don't do that. It didn't fair all that well for the cake in the back. Oh, well!

4. This Santa Fail

Looking at this poor attempt at making a Santa cake makes me think old St. Nick has seen better days, hee-hee. But I have to give this person props for at least trying to make it look cute.

5. This Poor Attempt

They say you should fake it until you make it. Somehow I don't think this cake is what they had in mind. But I guess a 5-year old wouldn't mind it so much, huh? Better luck next time.

6. This Scary Cake Topper

"My son turned one yesterday. This was the topper to his space-themed cake. Left is what we ordered, right is what we got," this Redditor shared.

Yikes, I hope the kid didn't get too traumatized.

7. This 'Face Cake' Fail

"My friend asked what to write on his wife's birthday cake. Someone said a face cake. This is the result."

If you're not familiar, "face cake" means it's supposed to have the outline of his wife's face on it. Nailed it. LOL!

8. This Melting Disaster

Here's the thing it's pretty hard to keep a cake from melting in the Texas heat. Perhaps next time, this baker should keep the cake refrigerated until it's ready to be consumed. I bet it looked pretty before it melted, though.

9. This Disney Fail

I don't get how some people think that making a Disney-inspired cake is easy. It is definitely not — not by a long shot. You can try it yourself, but it may end up looking like this one.

10. This 'Simpsons' Disaster

I like to draw, but one thing I have always struggled with was sketching faces. I can only imagine how much harder it is to make one on a cake. Case in point here, this Homer looks quite disastrous, eh?

11. This Rainbow Crepe Cake Mishap

They said, "Make a rainbow crepe cake. It will look so nice." And then this foolish person actually listened to them and attempted to make one themselves. This is what happened. Oh my gosh!

12. This Oreo Monstrosity

Here's the thing, this cake would be perfect for Halloween. Don't you think? They claim that it looks scary but tastes great, so I don't see what the problem is here. Do you get what I'm saying?

13. This Grogu Fail

Oh my goodness, for my birthday next year, I requested a Grogu cake. I just hope that mine won't end up looking as sad as this one here. Aww, what happened? That's what I would like to know, he-hee.

14. This Melted Cake

So apparently, this person tried to make a malt cake. I don't know exactly what that is, but I'm pretty sure it isn't supposed to turn out like this. It's more like a melted version, alright.

15. This 'Divorceversary' Cake

Most people celebrate their wedding anniversary, but this one is quite unusual. This person's office treated them to a cake that simply stated this. I wonder if he was happy or sad about it. What do you think?

16. This Pun

I don't know about you, but this might be the kind of effort I would like to put through. No, actually not, ha, ha! I think I would go a little more elaborate than that. But I can appreciate the pun.

17. This SpongeBob Fun

Oh, no! What happened to SpongeBob? He looks like one of his eyes melted off, ha, ha! There's no way I would ever serve this monstrosity to a child. I think that would send anybody screaming right away, huh?

18. This Leaning Disaster

You know that things aren't going well for your baking business when even the cake is ready to plunge itself to its death. Aww, this is so sad. It's about to buckle under all that weight. Yikes!

Okay, as I said before, cake making isn't a cakewalk.

It's actually really hard. So I applaud anyone who can bake a one to perfection and then decorate it like a champ. I'm not one of those people, and neither are these folks here. Have you ever attempted to do something out of your comfort zone?
