Bindi Irwin’s recent engagement has sparked a lot of conversation about her late father, Steve Irwin, and the positive impact and legacy he’s left on in the world. His children, Bindi and Robert, seem dedicated to continuing on that legacy.
Steve’s son, Robert, shared this photograph of himself following in his dad’s footsteps — literally.

Robert captioned the shot “Dad and me feeding Murray… same place, same croc – two photos 15 years apart.” Robert, just like his sister, is an animal welfare activist and educator at the Australia Zoo where his father also worked.
Bindi and her long time boyfriend Chandler recently got engaged.

The couple met the same way that Steve and his wife Terri did — while on a tour at the Australia zoo. Bindi announced that her brother would be walking her down the aisle at her wedding in her brother’s place, saying , “It’s what Dad would’ve wanted.”
Bindi shared an emotional letter to her father about it on her Instagram page this weekend.

“Dad, You would be so incredibly proud of Robert. He has been such an amazing support during this beautiful new life chapter,” she wrote.
“I know you’d be beaming with pride when the time comes that he walks me down the aisle.”

“I wish you could be here for these moments, but I know that your spirit lives on in us,” she finished. Robert commented with a simple heart emoji on the post.
