With an internet conspiracy theory circulating that Katy Perry, 40, is actually child beauty queen JonBenét Ramsey who was killed at age six, the Roar singer responded to the claims.
A video posted on Instagram of an AI-generated video of Ramsey transforming into Perry brought the conspiracy theory back to life and the plot thickened as the Wide Awake singer commented on the post.
Perry responded and the fans are living for it
Perry left a comment on the post saying: “wait am I,” with her comment garnering over 6,000 likes and 200 replies.
“This is my roman empire,” one fan wrote after seeing that Perry acknowledged the conspiracy theory. “Show us ur birth certificate sis,” another commenter added.
More about Ramsey’s death
Ramsey was first reported missing on December 26, 1996 and a few hours later, she was found strangled and bludgeoned to death in her family’s Boulder home’s basement.
Her father John, mother Patsy and brother Burke were initial prime suspects. However, 15 days after the murder, a DNA report excluded them from being involved with the murder, leading to their exoneration in 2008.
The conspiracy theories surrounding Ramsey’s death
The conspiracy theories surrounding Ramsey’s death have been circulating since 2014, including that Perry is actually Ramsey. The theory claims that Ramsey’s parents faked her death so that she could become famous as Perry.
The theory has holes
The biggest hole of them all is that Perry is 40 years old, had Ramsey lived, she would have been 35 years old.
Ramsey’s case is still unsolved and is the subject of many documentaries, including last year’s Netflix’s Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey.
More about the Netflix Documentary

The documentary revolved around how the Boulder, Colorado police department mishandled the case and how the media has tainted the case as it still suspects that the family are the culprits.
Filmmaker Joe Berlinger told the New York Post last November that he firmly believes that Ramsey’s family is innocent.
He also believes that the case can be solved
“And I am also firmly convinced that this case can be solved, if the Boulder Police Department finally does what it’s supposed to do,” the Oscar-nominated filmmaker also told the New York Post.
Ramsey’s father is keen on solving the case
John met with the new Boulder police chief, Stephen Redfearn, earlier this year to put an end to this mystery and solve the case. He even participated in the documentary in an attempt to unveil his daughter’s mystery.
