Jimmy Kimmel went off on the Grammys in his Feb. 3 monologue, and it was hilarious. He had a lot to say about Will Smith, Kanye West, and Bianca Censori.
He teased that if Will had slapped Kanye on the red carpet, everyone would’ve forgiven him for the whole Oscars thing. Honestly, it’s not the worst idea…
Will Smith returns to the spotlight
So Will Smith showed up at the 2025 Grammys! This was his first big awards appearance since that whole slap at the Oscars.
But he wasn’t there for drama — he was just presenting a tribute to Quincy Jones. Still, that whole Oscars ban thing’s hanging over him, and you could kinda feel it.
Kanye hit the red carpet, then peaced out
“Another rodent came out of his hole to hit the red carpet at the Grammys last night — none other than Kanye West, who showed up to take photos.”
Kanye showed up just for the red carpet and dipped right after. Bro didn’t even bother staying for the show. Typical Kanye move, huh?
Bianca Censori’s au naturel appearance on the red carpet
“He showed up for the red carpet only with his wife, who caused quite a stir. She was wearing … nothing,” Kimmel recalled.
Now, let’s talk about Bianca. Did she really walk the Grammys red carpet wearing, well, nothing? Oh, you bet she did. And naturally, people couldn’t stop talking about it. Who can blame them?
The Grammys compared to previous celebrity scandals
“Remember when the whole country melted down when one of Janet Jackson’s b**bs popped out for a millisecond? Now a completely n*de woman walks the red carpet at the Grammys, they’re yelling, ‘Bianca, over here on the right! Please!’”
Kimmel was spot on here. Remember when Janet Jackson’s wardrobe malfunction caused a huge meltdown? That was a massive deal.
Now, here’s Bianca Censori walking around like it’s no biggie, and everyone’s just calling her name like it’s a regular thing. Times really have changed, man.
Public scandals are apparently the norm now
“This shows you just how times have changed. Before Trump, [West and Censori] would have been our whole monologue tonight. Now it’s like the ninth craziest thing that happened this week.”
True, Jimmy. Back in the day, the Kanye-Bianca drama would’ve been huge news. But now? It’s barely on the radar, just buried under all the other crazy things going on in the world. The world’s gone wild.
Will Smith and the Oscars ban
There he was on the red carpet at the Grammys last Sunday, Will Smith, who is banned from the Oscars for 10 years. The Grammys had him onstage honoring Quincy Jones.
So yeah, Will was there, but not without the shadow of his 10-year Oscars ban hanging over him. It’s just hard to forget about that slap incident from a couple of years ago.
Jimmy’s humorous take on what Will should have done
“Will Smith, all he had to do was run out on that red carpet and slap Kanye. I think all would be forgiven. He would be hosting the Oscars next year.”
Jimmy’s thinking that would’ve fixed everything, and honestly? He has a point.
The aftermath of Kanye and Bianca’s red carpet moment
A report circulated online that the duo had been kicked out of the event, but one source close to the Grammys disputed that rumor and told Variety it was “not true” and that Kanye simply “walked the carpet, got in his car and left.”
No drama, just a quick exit.
Kanye’s Grammy nomination and loss
Kanye (or Ye) was nominated at the Grammys this year in the best rap song category for his song Carnival, which he co-wrote with Ty Dolla $ign. The duo lost the prize, which went to Kendrick Lamar for Not Like Us.
Better luck next time, Kanye! But maybe next time, wifey can leave a little something to the imagination?
