The actor Bruce Willis had previously made a vow while filming the iconic action series Die Hard over three decades ago which he has now broken.
After a long legacy of iconic movies like Die Hard, The Sixth Sense, Pulp Fiction, and 12 Monkeys with memorable characters on the silver screen, the star has recently appeared on social media, breaking his decades-long promise.

The Die Hard franchise has five movies that span twenty-five years. That’s certainly a long time to commit to the narrative.
In the movies, we see the officer McClane constantly finding himself in need of fighting a group of attackers.
The first movie was his first encounter with them
In the first installation of Die Hard, Willis’ character, John McClane, becomes entangled with a terrorist group that takes his estranged wife and other individuals hostage in the Nakatomi Plaza in Los Angeles.
The movie also features McClane trying to reconcile with his wife.
Die Hard was set at Christmastime
In the first movie, we see McClane attempting to fix things with his estranged wife Holly Gennaro-McClane, who is played by Bonnie Bedelia, at a Christmas party.
This sets the heroic action film during the festive season, making it all the more unforgettable.
McClane also has to save his wife in the second movie
From then on, the franchise continued to be a series of the police officer’s heroic acts.
In Die Hard 2, we see McClane waiting for his wife’s plane to land in Washington Dulles International Airport before a group of attackers take control of the air traffic system.
The franchise carries on in the same sense
You could probably take a guess as to how the third, fourth, and fifth Die Hard movies go by now.
The actor’s continued participation in the action movies got him to make a promise while filming that he has now broken.
He had promised never to get on top of a tall building again
The actor, who is now retired after his diagnosis with a brain disorder, had once promised while filming to “never even think about going up in a tall building again.”
In July 2022, however, his wife shared a post where Willis was celebrating his birthday, standing on top of Fox Plaza in Los Angeles, where the first movie was filmed.
The star had retired earlier that year
In March 2022, Willis’ family announced his retirement from acting due to a brain disorder, which was later diagnosed as frontotemporal dementia in 2023.
His daughter Tallulah Willis said that her father was in a stable condition but that it was still a hard situation for them.
