To be clear, you would not be the a**hole for not inviting Luke to your personal Christmas, but I don’t think you can host the big family Christmas and disinvite him if that’s the one he usually goes to. That does not mean it was wrong to go ahead with the adoption, but it does mean that you can’t isolate Luke from the rest of the family when he’s clearly having an emotional response to seeing a child he fathered periodically.
