Sarah Jessica Parker & Matthew Broderick's Love Story Is So Adorable

A long-lasting happy marriage in Hollywood is like a diamond in the rough: exceptionally rare and even harder to find. You can almost count on one hand all the couples who've been together for more than 20 years.

Therefore, it becomes all the more important to celebrate the love and commitment of those couples that manage to make it work. Couples like Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick, for example — who have quite the love story, to say the least.

Sarah Jessica Parker is best-known for her time spent on HBO's groundbreaking comedy, 'Sex & The City'.

Sarah played Carrie Bradshaw: a young writer living in New York City, looking for love in all the wrong places. The show ran for six seasons and produced two feature films.

Sarah's husband, Matthew Broderick, is known for playing an equally iconic character.

Matthew's big break came along after he was tapped to play the lead in Ferris Bueller's Day Off. The movie has gone on to achieve cult-like status among fans.

It is regaled as one of the most quintessential films of the decade.

With good reason too, it's hilarious, emotional, and is aesthetically pleasing. What's not to love?

Their paths crossed for the first time all the way back in 1991.

Sarah and Matthew each come from a Broadway background.

In 1991, Matthew was directing a play for the Naked Angels Theater Company — founded by Sarah's older brothers, Pippin and Toby.

"I do remember first meeting her," Broderick said in an interview with YES Network.

Matthew explained in vivid detail what Sarah looked like as she walked toward him on the street. He admits that remembering how a person looks or walks is a throwaway detail most of the time.

But for some reason — he could never forget Sarah.

And honestly, who can even blame him? Look at her! She's stunning even when she is completely shocked!

Months passed by without any word whatsoever.

Then one day, Matthew finally mustered up the courage to call Sarah and ask her out on a date, over the phone.

Since she wasn't available to take the call, Matthew wound up leaving a voicemail!

Luckily for Matthew, Sarah was able to see through his awkward demeanor and accepted.

It didn't take long for a strong bond to begin to develop. In no time, Sarah and Matthew were inseparable. Then, five years later they tied the knot.

In front of a congregation of 100 of their closest friends and family, Sarah and Matthew said their "I dos."

At the wedding, Sarah infamously wore a black dress.

For the fashion icon, you can imagine how that might have stunned a lot of her fans.

When asked as to why she chose to wear black instead of the traditional white gown, Sarah told 'People' magazine:

“I never thought about a wedding dress. Never. Had not one daydream about it."

Sarah and Matthew also share three beautiful children together.

Their first son, James Wilkie, was born on October 28th, 2002. Seven years later, they welcomed two new editions to the family — twin daughters Marion and Tabitha.

In 2017, Sarah and Matthew celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary.

Sarah shared a throwback wedding photo to commemorate the day via Instagram. The caption read, "It flew by Baby. Good golly I love you. XXX, Your wife."

Can you believe how young the two of them look?!

During a recent interview on the 'Radio Andy' show, host Andy Cohen asked to hear the secret behind Matthew and Sarah's long-lasting marriage.

"I don't know the secret at all," Matthew replied. "But I'm very grateful and I love her and, it's amazing."

"I mean, I can't believe that it's been that long. It doesn't feel like it," he said.

Proving that everything comes full-circle, Matthew and Sarah are set to reunite on Broadway this year.

Matthew and Sarah are all set to star in "Plaza Suite."

Throughout the performance, Sarah and Matthew challenge the status quo of marriage as they transform into three different couples.

I bet it'll be amazing!
