Famous Celebs From The '90s: Then Vs Now

The '90s were an incredible decade. It not only gave us some of the greatest movies and TV shows of all time but it also helped to cement some of our favorite actors as unquestionable movie stars.

As hard as it is to accept (especially for someone who lived through it) it's been more than 20 years since the close of the decade. Have a look below and see how some of our favorite stars looked back then compared to now.

Michelle Pfeiffer

Warner Bros. / @michellepfeifferofficial

I stand firm in my belief that Michelle Pfeiffer's performance as Selina Kyle/Catwoman in Batman Returns is one of the greatest in the superhero genre. Plus, now that we're approaching the Christmas season, I get to watch it guilt-free!

John Travolta

Miramax / @johntravolta

I'm going to come right out and say that I for one am glad to see John finally embracing his beautiful bald look. Let's be honest, those toupees fooled absolutely no one and actually made him look older.

Meg Ryan

Columbia Pictures / Momentum Pictures

I recently sat down to rewatch When Harry Met Sally and I have to say — that film is as timeless as it ever was. Also, Meg Ryan faking an orgasm while out to lunch with Billy Crystal is unquestionably one of the funniest scenes in cinema.

Michael Douglas

PolyGram Films / @michaelkirkdouglas

Michael Douglas has always been a favorite of mine, I absolutely love his performance in The Game, and who could ever forget Wall Street?!

I've yet to see The Kominsky Method but it's high atop my list of things to watch.

Winona Ryder

20th Century Fox / Netflix

The beauty of Edward Scissorhands is that it functions as both a Halloween and as a Christmas movie! I missed out on watching it this past October, but I won't be making that mistake now that the Christmas season is upon us.

Macaulay Culkin

20th Century Fox / @culkamania

When the trailer for the new Home Alone movie recently dropped, my heart sunk at the news that Macaulay wouldn't be involved with the project. I'm still holding out hope that he may have a brief cameo, however unlikely it may be.

Julia Roberts

Tri-Star Pictures / @juliaroberts

Any serious film buff knows full well that Julia Roberts was the queen of the '90s and remains one of the greatest and most influential actresses of all time. Of all her incredible film achievements, my go-to favorite has always been Hook.

Kirstie Alley

Warner Bros. / @kirstiealley

I know I'm probably in the minority with this opinion, but It Takes Two is a criminally underrated movie. I would take the Olsen twins over Lindsay Lohan in The Parent Trap any day of the week.

Anthony Hopkins

Orion Pictures / @anthonyhopkins

There's something about the glint in Anthony Hopkins' eyes that just screams pure evil. The Silence of the Lambs remains unrivaled in its ability to convey suspense and continues to haunt the dreams and minds of moviegoers even to this day.

Drew Barrymore

Dimension Films / @drewbarrymore

You have to give Wes Craven credit — the man knew what he was doing with Scream. Hiring one of the biggest film stars of the decade, only to then kill her off in the first five minutes of the movie? That's brilliant.

Tom Hanks

Paramount Pictures / Apple TV+

Whenever I need a good cry, I sit down and watch Forrest Gump. It's one of the most emotionally powerful films that I've ever seen, and in my opinion — one of the best ever. As soon as Forrest asks "Why don't you love me, Jenny?" I start blubbering every time.

Christina Ricci

New Line Cinema / @riccigrams

Oh boy, did 10-year-old me ever have a crush on Christina Ricci. So much so that I would gladly sit down and watch Now and Then with my sister any time she'd so much as make the suggestion. I couldn't help it — I was in love.

Johnny Depp

Paramount Pictures / @johnnydepp

It's no exaggeration to say that Johnny Depp was one of the biggest movie stars of his era. It's certainly not his most talked about movie, but as far as I'm concerned, What's Eating Gilbert Grape? is a bonified classic.

Sharon Stone

Tri-Star Pictures / @sharonstone

No matter how many years go by, Sharon Stone will always be known for her infamous leg-crossing scene in Basic Instinct. I was never a huge fan of erotic thrillers myself, but Sharon's performance is simply too good to ignore.

Brendan Fraser

Buena Vista / DC Universe

I love Brendan Fraser and so does the world at large. I loved him the first time I saw him in Encino Man and I loved him even more in Doom Patrol.

Fingers crossed that the rumors about him playing a villain in the DCU are true!
