Mom Goes Viral For Not Knowing She'd Have To Do Things With Her Kids 'All The Time'

Parenting isn't easy — just ask Stacey Green.

She's a mom from TikTok who's gone viral for sharing what she wishes she knew about parenting before having kids.

This includes having to do things with them, "like all the time." It's a tedious job, but someone's gotta do it! Keep reading to learn what other confessions she shared.

Stacey Green recently lifted the veil on parenting in her now-viral TikTok video.

In it, she told her 96.7k followers that it's actually quite exhausting. "You have to do things with them, like all the time. Like fill the day with things to do. For them."

She compared her current life to her former kid-free one.

"Before my Saturday would have been maybe hanging out with my friends Mary and Jane, and watching TV. Or going to a cottage. Now my days are spent in a field going 'one, two, three gooo' as we go up and down a hill on a tractor."

While parents might not sympathize, saying spending time with your kids comes as part of the job, she said that she understands all that.

Her issue comes from the fact that no one warned her about the tediousness of it all.

"Like I knew it, but I didn't understand the tedium of it all," she said.

"Anyway, just a little PSA for you if you're on the fence and you don't want to do things, or be told what things you should do, this may not be for you," she continued.

She then turned to her little one, commenting, "Ohh, that is a big rock," with a grimace on her face.

Many parents in the comments agreed with how exhausting raising kids can be.

"When you've had breakfast, done a painting, rode bikes, had a visit to the park, watched a show, had lunch and it's only 11 am," one mom commented with a crying emoji.

"It's exhausting having to acknowledge every statement they say," another wrote.

Case in point: "My days are filled with saying 'cool' and 'woah' when my 6 y.o. does a jump kick. Constantly."

Despite all this work, one mom pointed out how the kids don't appreciate any of this and will continue to say they're bored.

Meanwhile, others credited Stacey for making their decision not to have kids much easier.

"I love it how moms complain about how hard parenting is. Thank you for being real and helping me avoid motherhood lol I love to sleep," one wrote. "Happily childfree," added another.

Some parents disagreed entirely with Stacey's comments by criticizing her for complaining.

This prompted her to create a follow-up video about something else she wishes she knew about parenting: just how much everyone would have an opinion on her parenting style.

"Everybody is going to have an opinion about how you're raising your kids - everybody," she said.

"And you know what? They can think whatever they want because the only opinion that matters is yours," she said. She then shared some of the judgemental comments she receives on her TikTok videos.

"People saying I can't believe she would do it like this or that's not how I do it."

"Okay. Don't do it like that, who said you had to. But that's the beautiful part about this. Those are your babies, this is your family. Everybody else can shove it," she continued

Parents resonated with this as well. "I love this!!! Everyone always has something to say and it's usually family."

Stacey has since turned her original viral video into a series.

In the third video, she shared how you'll never sleep again. And in the latest video, she shared how you'll never be able to run in quickly somewhere to grab something without your kids.

They'll always want to be with you, she said.
