Rebel Wilson Reveals She Got 'Bad News' As She Goes Through Fertility Struggle

Rebel Wilson has been on an absolute tear over the past 12-plus months. After proclaiming 2020 to be her year of health, The Bridesmaids star began losing weight, eating healthy, and began thinking about starting a family.

Recently, Rebel received some heartbreaking information from her doctor. Since she had no one else to share it with, the comedic star took to Instagram to reveal the recent bad news that she received amid her struggles with fertility.

For many people, 2020 was an incredibly dark and uncertain time. But Rebel chose to turn it into something positive.

When Rebel Wilson turned 40, she began taking a serious look at her health and physical fitness. She knew that she wouldn't be working much throughout 2020 due to pandemic restraints, and was determined to begin making positive lifestyle changes.

It wasn't easy, especially in the early stages, but Rebel persevered. After only a few short months, Rebel successfully managed to meet her goal weight of 165 lbs.

Rebel wasn't just working out for herself, she was trying to get in shape to prepare herself for motherhood.

Around the time that Rebel turned 40 was also when she began freezing her eggs. Rebel explained during a discussion with E! Online:

"As all good career women out there should know, you know, if that's something that interests you, it's a pretty good time to do it."

Rebel went on to say how even waiting until 40 is pushing the envelope and that she wished she did it sooner.

Rebel thought that her physical fitness, combined with the high quality frozen eggs, would make conception a breeze. Sadly, she was mistaken.

Rebel took to Instagram to post this incredibly forlorn photo of herself walking on the rocks by the beach. She began the caption by explaining that she'd received some bad news regarding her year-long battle with fertility struggles.

She addressed her female audience directly by saying "To all the women out there struggling with fertility, I feel ya."

"The universe works in mysterious ways and sometimes it all doesn’t make sense..."

It can be incredibly hard to see the silver lining, especially in the wake of such utterly heartbreaking news. But in spite of her tragedy, Rebel somehow managed to maintain her optimism.

In no time at all, Rebel's post was awash with comments from fans around the globe, expressing their heartfelt solidarity and support. One such person to offer their sympathies was none other than Oscar-nominated actress, Sharon Stone.

The *Basic Instinct* star was quick to offer support and share her own story with Rebel.

Just like Rebel, Sharon also knows all about the heartbreak that comes from struggling with infertility. She wrote on Rebel's post, "Been there repeatedly there is good news I have three beautiful sons."

Sharon was sadly unable to conceive due to an auto-immune disorder. She tried for many years on her own, in vain, before finally turning to the help and aid of a surrogate mother.

Sharon isn't the only one, either. In fact, there are several celebrities who have had their babies via surrogacy.

Kim Kardashian, Elton John, and Nicole Kidman are all celebrities who have had children via a surrogate. It's becoming increasingly more popular and far less stigmatized as time goes on.

For some couples, using a surrogate to start a family is the last resort. While others make the conscious choice so as to not allow pregnancy to affect or hamper their professional lives and careers.

Maybe this could be the silver lining that Rebel was looking for?

It's true that surrogacy isn't often the first option for aspiring parents but it is most certainly still an option — especially for someone who's as determined to have children as Rebel is.

While there's no denying the news she's received is heartbreaking, it isn't necessarily hopeless. Who knows — perhaps Rebel has already reached out to Sharon Stone and is discussing surrogacy details as we speak. I certainly would like to think so.
