The New ‘Frozen 2’ Trailer Has A Lot Of ‘Game of Thrones’ Parallels

What? Well, I can't say I ever saw this coming.

But, then again, in this business, you're surprised constantly. Okay, so here we go. A Game Of Thrones and Frozen 2 article.

Today, we're talking 'Frozen 2'.

Disney

Well, the new trailer just dropped and we're all pretty darn excited.

And in that sentence, I use the royal "we" cause I can't speak for anyone else, but I can sure speak for myself.

... And 'Game Of Thrones'.

HBO

Weird, right?

You'd think there wouldn't be much that's similar between something that eventually got really annoying for a bunch of adults and Frozen 2 (insert snotty laughter here).

So what could be the similar?

Disney

Well, let's talk about the trailer.

To begin, the whole plot behind it is that Elsa has to go North to find the true extent of her powers, or to find her very own place in this world.

Kind of like Jon Snow.

HBO

Who went North to the Night's watch because he felt like he didn't have much of a place in the Stark family, considering the fact that he's... uh... illegitimate I think is the nice word for that.

Let' see... Does it hold up?

Kind of?

I dunno, their stories seem so different and yet they feel similar. In a way, Elsa and Jon Snow are both outcasts in a strange and messed up world.

Alright, let's move on...

Disney

Okay. So we start the trailer and Elsa is on the beach, trying to cross a raging sea using her ice powers to freeze the waves.

Eventually, she fails.

Some people...

HBO

Are comparing the beach on which Elsa stands to Dragonstone, but personally, I would compare it to the Iron Islands.

I just feel the beach motif fits them a lot more.

Does it hold up?

Disney

Ehhhh.... probably not.

I mean, unless there was a bunch of ships she had to protect Arendelle from, then I don't think we can really draw a comparison here. Unless we really thought about it.

Next...

Disney

Elsa falls into the water, where she is suddenly surrounded by blackness.

Out of nowhere, she is confronted by what seems to be a magical horse. They share a glance, then suddenly the thing is gone.

There are those...

HBO

Who started comparing the magical horse to Arya's white horse?

The one that visits her after the burning of King's Landing. They're both girls, they both see a horse, how is this not on point?

Well...

Disney

In order to get a good comparison, we should probably try to figure out what the horses mean.

Could it be death? Could it be a chance at survival from a treacherous situation?

I think...

HBO

If there is supposed to be a comparison, then the horses are meant to represent a second chance at discovery.

For Elsa, it's about discovering her past and for Arya, it's about discovering new adventures.

Finally...

Disney

We should examine all the things we see at the end of the trailer.

We see brief glances of giants, waterfalls, wildfire and a group of stones that look similar to where the Children of Men created the Night King.

All of which are in "Game Of Thrones"

HBO

Personally, I think this is the strongest comparison argument you can make.

They share the same creatures, magic and possibly villains (probably not, but whatever). Maybe there is meant to be some parallels...

What do you think?

Disney

Is there meant to be a link between the two? Or is this all just internet poppycock?

One thing is for sure, fans are hoping that Frozen 2 is nothing like a certain final Season...
