Pregnant Amy Schumer Says She's Still 'Puking' Because Of Gender Bias In Medical Research

Amy Schumer has always spoken candidly about her life and is never afraid to say what's on her mind.

Since announcing her pregnancy, Amy has continued to share every little detail with fans and speak out about issues affecting pregnant women.

Amy, who has suffered from extreme nausea throughout her pregnancy, recently called out gender bias in the medical research community in a post that is both hilarious and real.

The comedian and mamma-to-be is no stranger to speaking out on social media regarding social causes.

She is known to be pretty vocal about many women's rights issues as well as body positivity.

Amy Schumer is currently expecting her first child with husband, Chris Fischer.

Throughout her pregnancy, Amy has been keeping fans posted with all her updates and details. And when I say all the updates, I really mean this mama hasn't censored anything.

Unfortunately, Amy has been suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, a condition that causes extreme nausea in pregnant women.

Amy even had to be hospitalized and cancel shows because of the condition.

Since hyperemesis can make it difficult for an expecting mom to keep any food or fluids down, Amy also had to be hooked up to an IV.

HG is definitely not a pleasant condition, and other celebrities like Kate Middleton have suffered from it as well.

Amy is definitely a boss, no doubt!

Even though her pregnancy has been a bit rough to say the least, she still keeps a great sense of humor through it all.

With her usual humor and wit, Amy has also had some pretty funny moments during her pregnancy.

She wore this fake bump and totally had us fooled when she stopped by Late Night With Seth Meyers for a visit.

Amy also released her pregnancy-themed Netflix special, "Growing".

Of course, she got candid and real when it came to discussing all things baby and pregnancy. Go add this to your Netflix queue now!

This post wasn't just about being funny. Amy took the chance to make a comment about the lack of research for women's health issues.

This is a topic that seems to not be taken seriously enough today.

She also shared this relatable AF video of how she puts on socks as a very pregnant woman.

This sock "hack" should look familiar to anyone who has rocked a baby bump before. I think I just gave up on socks altogether and wore flip flops for the last month of my pregnancy.

With Amy's due date coming up, she shared this update with fans.

Writing in the style of a tabloid paper, Amy captioned the photo, "Amy Schumer And Chris Fischer set pulses racing while the heavily pregnant Schumer flaunts her growing bump."

LOL!

In true Amy Schumer fashion, she delivered the piping hot tea!

"Amy is still pregnant and puking because money rarely goes to medical studies for women such as hyperemesis or endometriosis and instead goes to things like d-ks not getting hard enough or old guys who want harder d-ks," she wrote.

Many Instagram users supported Amy's sentiments and even shared their own hyperemesis experiences.

This user in particular also felt invalidated during her appointments.

Thanks to Amy and other celebrities speaking out about their conditions, hopefully, this will change in the future.

It's great that people so prominent in the media world can bring this issue to light and speak for those whose voices go unheard.

Many sent well wishes Amy's way and really appreciated the comedian's caption.

It's so nice to see other women who have experienced HG empathize with Amy.

I love those women supporting women vibes!

You tell them, Amy!

While it's hard to know exactly how much research has gone towards conditions like HG, it is known that women's health issues have historically not been researched as much as men's because of gender bias in research.
