You never know where life can take you.
It could take you to Starbucks for lunch (excuse us, while we order this Golden Girls frappuccino ) or it could take you on an adventure where you stumble upon an unexpected treasure.
The latter is what happened to these 19 lucky people. Whether it was a barbeque filled with baby birds, a guinea pig in the woods, or even a seventh-leaf clover, they stumbled upon these weird but totally interesting finds!
Some of these are even worth millions of dollars!
The message in a bottle
This is so sweet! The note in the bottle specified that the bottle was sent out on the day his family laid him to rest. It also instructed those who found the bottle to take a picture with it, post it to the man’s Facebook page, and throw it back in the water for someone else to find.
The ecosystem
“While walking on the beach in Hawaii my wife and I found this glass ball that had become the home of small marine ecosystem,” this Redditor wrote. How cool is this?! It looks like a tiny planet.
The cottontails
Thankfully, this Redditor’s dad found these adorable bunnies before he mowed the lawn. Right place, right time!
The barbeque chicken
“Opened up BBQ for the first time this spring and found some hungry wings,” this Redditor wrote. They ended up leaving them in the grill until they were old enough to use the nest.
The house in the woods
How sweet! Any kid who loves the Winnie the Pooh series would love to stumble onto this in the woods . The only thing missing is it saying, “Mr. Sanderz.”
The wild boot
“My dad and his friend found the boot that Reese Witherspoon threw off a cliff during the filming of the movie ‘Wild,'” this Redditor wrote. He could make a pretty chunk of change if he were to sell it on eBay.
The crawfish
This is a blue crawfish that was found in the mountains of West Virginia. That color is absolutely gorgeous! Almost too pretty to eat… almost.
The quarter
“Found a carved-out quarter on the ground showing George Washington smoking reefer,” this Redditor wrote. Someone had a lot of spare time on their hands to do this! George is certainly rolling over in his grave over this.
The smooth pebble
How satisfying is this? It’s smooth AF and would make the perfect skipping stone . We’re not sure how it’s a pebble, though, considering its size is almost the same as this person’s palm.
The Viking
“A Viking sword dating back over 1,000 years ago was discovered by reindeer hunters at an elevation of 5,400 feet, atop a mountain in Southern Norway,” this Redditor wrote.
The magic wand
If there was ever a stick to imagine as a magic wand, it’s definitely this one. That’s why this Redditor’s daughter used it as one. Smart girl!
The lightbulb
“My brother found this life-bulb washed up on an Australian beach. It was all alive and it floated,” this Redditor wrote. While it’s not good to see any materials in the ocean, we’re glad that the life there turned it into a home!
The rare find
This man struck gold (or quartz you could say) when he found this quartz in Arkansas worth four million dollars! This must be a world record for how big this grouping is!
Now we’re left to wonder if he will turn this into a bracelet or an earring.
The shark teeth
“My brother likes to search for shark teeth on beaches. This was 6hrs of searching at Folly Beach SC,” this Redditor wrote. Good thing they didn’t run into actual sharks! They wouldn’t take too kindly to someone stealing their fallen teeth.
The calculator
And you thought math was hard when you were in school? Just imagine trying to do simple math or solve basic equations with this thing! It’s even worse than the scientific calculators we were forced to use in school.
The brochure
“Found a travel brochure from the World Trade Center while cleaning out my house,” this Redditor wrote. This definitely didn’t age well…
The sword
This eight-year-old girl basically made herself the Queen of Sweden when she found a sword from the Iron Age In Lake Vidösten. The rare and unique sword is estimated to be around 1500 years. We wonder if it’s even possible to restore something that old.
The guinea pig
“Found a guinea pig that was abandoned in the woods while I was playing disc golf. She has a new home now,” this Redditor wrote . Kudos to this person for taking it in!
The seventh leaf clover
Forget a four-leaf clover! This man stumbled upon a seventh-leaf clover! This must mean that he has more luck than a leprechaun, right? Either way, he needs to head on down to a convenience store and buy a lottery ticket!
