With the increasing support for the Black Lives Matter movement in Hollywood and around the world, more brands and celebrities are being called out for their racist and problematic behaviours in the past.

One of these celebrities is Tina Fey, who was the head writer for the hit comedy show, 30 Rock.

There are four episodes of the long running series that contain a white character with blackface.

30 Rock ran on NBC from 2006 to 2013.

According to NBCUniversal, the episodes set to be pulled include Season 3, Episode 2; Season 5, Episode 4; Season 5, Episode 10 and Season 6, Episode 19.

Now, Tina Fey is calling for these episodes to be removed from streaming websites.

"As we strive to do the work and do better in regards to race in America, we believe that these episodes featuring actors in race-changing makeup are best taken out of circulation," she said in a statement. "I understand now that intent is not a free pass for White people to use these images."

"Going forward, no comedy-loving kid needs to stumble on these tropes and be stung by their ugliness. I thank NBCUniversal for honoring this request," she concluded.

Lead character Jane Krakowski appeared in blackface twice on the show, as well as guest star Jon Hamm in one episode.

A lot of people, myself included, were surprised to hear that there was not one but FOUR episodes featuring blackface.

Needless to say, this is a hot button topic on social media currently.
