Jessica Simpson clapped back at a former Vogue employee after they made a "nauseating" comment about her boobs in her 2007 Met Gala dress, and we are here for it!
In honor of what would have surely been a glamorous, remarkable, star-studded evening, Vogue published a timeline, looking back at the Met Galas of yesteryear.
Sally Singer, a former Creative Digital Director at Vogue had some choice words about Jessica Simpson and John Mayer at the 2007 Met Gala.
While their relationship was a total dumpster fire, they looked amazing together.
"One year, Jessica Simpson was there with John Mayer," Sally said.
"And her breasts maybe fell out of her dress on the red carpet...," she continued.
I'd like to point out that she said Jessica's breasts "maybe" fell out. So, this information means absolutely nothing.
But it's not her fault that she's busty, and she shouldn't not be allowed to wear something because of that.
"And they are on a platter and I’m looking at them.'"
"He kind of reached down and I just remember thinking, 'Oh, celebrities, feel free to play here.' That’s what’s going on."
In response, she tweeted this iconic photo of Sophia Loren giving Jayne Mansfield the side-eye for showing cleavage.
This woman looks like she has never seen a pair of breasts before.
In a separate tweet, she made sure to call out the misogyny and body-shaming in a more forthcoming way.
She explained that hearing this out of another woman's mouth made it so much worse.
"To read this article about the classiest fashion event there is," she went on.
Just a kindly reminder that it's 2020 and women, nay, people, come in all shapes and sizes.
Better yet, what did you think of Jessica's clap-back?
