James Corden Sets Record Straight About Not Driving In 'Carpool Karaoke'

James Corden is setting the record straight!

The Late Late Show With James Corden host addressed the "very, very serious allegations" that he doesn't drive during his popular "Carpool Karaoke" segments.

Keep reading to see what he had to say!

Last week, the internet found out that EVERYTHING WE'VE EVER KNOWN IS A LIE.

Okay, not really.

Butttt, we did find out that James Corden doesn't drive during his popular "Carpool Karaoke" segments.

People love the series since they get to see their favorite singers ride shotgun and sing to their own songs.

His video with Adele even has over 210 million views!

But back to James's "betrayal." This internet learned about his filming method after this video was shared on Twitter.

In this clip, the Late Late Show With James Corden host was being towed around by a truck while filming his third "Carpool Karaoke" with Justin Bieber.

Since people were so shocked, it didn't take long for the video to go viral.

It's even been retweeted more than 100k times!

That's when you know the internet is upset about something.

This person thought that a name change for the segment was in order:

"That’s cheating your supposed to drive the car," another Twitter user added.

Corden finally took the time to address these “very very serious allegations” during Wednesday night's episode of his show.

“I just want to get ahead of everything and address those rumors and assure you, my audience, that these accusations are not true,” he began.

“I am of course talking about the people saying that I don’t drive the car during Carpool Karaoke. Now I really hate that I’m about to say this but, fake news,” he said.

The Cats star then caught the audience up to speed about how the video showing him being towed around with Justin Bieber had gone viral.

“Now I know this looks bad," James said after showing the incriminating evidence.

But then Corden explained his side of the story.

"I just want to say right now that I always drive the car unless we are doing something where we think it might not be safe, like, a dance routine or a costume change, or if I’m drunk,” Corden joked.

He continued:

“But in the case of Justin Bieber, it was a safety issue where we thought it was best to tow the car. Frankly, I just can’t stop getting lost in his eyes, ok?”

In case you need proof that James is telling the truth, here's a clip of him *actually* driving One Direction around.

James then shared how this "media frenzy" has played out for him.

He showed different headlines the media is writing about him, such as "James Corden Exposed" from Buzzfeed and "The Worst Lie Since Santa" from The Guardian.

“Look, I’m just shocked that I’ve done something that’s upset people more than Cats,” Corden joked.

This was a hilarious jab at the poorly rated film he was in last year.

It was a complete catastrophe, to say the least.

James then continued clearing his name.

“I swear to you, 95 percent of the time, I really am endangering the lives of the world’s biggest pop stars but this is a TV show not everything is real."

He revealed some of TV's biggest secrets, like how his midnight show is actually taped at 5 p.m.

"It’s TV and sometimes we do stuff just for the sake of entertainment, but when it comes to Carpool — except for very rare exceptions for safety — I am driving the car and I want credit for it because I was raised driving on a completely different side of the road.”

Corden even shared the small list of Carpool Karaoke episodes where he wasn't driving.

This included Meghan Trainor, Migos, Cardi B, Chance the Rapper, and Justin Bieber during his third time doing the segment.

“I am nothing if not a man of integrity,” he said, before revealing the exciting news that "Carpool Karaoke" the Series is coming exclusively to Apple TV.
