Riley Reportedly Banned Her Grandmother

Riley was said to have paid a visit to the sprawling property located in Memphis Tennessee and brought in the new locks. The source noted that the archives keys were previously wielded by the director Angie Marchese, Lisa Marie, and Priscilla. They added that with the current development, Priscilla is "furious."

Graceland Denies The Claims

After news that Riley changed Graceland's locks circulated, the staff at the property responded. The ongoing tussle between Riley and Priscilla is a result of their legal battle over Lisa Marie's living trust. Following Lisa's burial, details of her living trust were revealed and it showed that he mother and former manager, Barry Siegel were removed as trustees.

Details Of Lisa Marie's Trust

The trust is said to serve as a will following her death. It lists the inheritance of Graceland and a 15% stake in Elvis Presley Enterprises. From the development after her death, it is evident that Lisa cut her mom off.

What Is Priscilla's Claim?

However, Priscilla is having none of it. She has since filed a lawsuit challenging the "validity and authenticity" of the amended document. The trust was said to have been amended in 2016. The 77-year-old's legal action came four days after Lisa's burial.

Priscilla questioned the legitimacy of the amendment that was effected by pointing out some things she found amiss. She noted that Lisa's signature was inconsistent compared to her usual customary signature. She also noted an error in name spelling. The public figure relayed that she was not informed when the change was effected and there seemed to be no witnesses.

What Changes Were Made

Lisa Marie replaced her mom and Siegel as co-trustees with her oldest kids, Riley and Benjamin Keough. However, Benjamin passed away by suicide in 2020, leaving Riley as the sole trustee.

Lisa And Priscilla Were Reportedly Not Speaking Before Her Death

Although Lisa Marie and Priscilla seemed close months before her demise, an insider relayed that they were in fact not on speaking terms. They conveyed that in the past seven years, Lisa and Priscilla didn't see eye-to-eye or discuss business. The insider added that the late singer wanted her kids to own 5% each of the estate.

The Cause Of Their Rift

Priscilla and Lisa's issues were related to her messy split with her ex-husband, Michael Lockwood. Lisa shared her twin daughters Harper and Finley with him. Following their divorce, the pair were locked in a bitter custody battle and Priscilla was said to have taken Lockwood's side.

Priscilla Invited Lockwood To Lisa's Memorial Service

Leading up to the lawsuit, Riley and Priscilla had differing opinions over certain things. This reportedly happened during Lisa's memorial. A source told People that Lockwood, who attended the public service, was not invited. However, Priscilla seemed to have facilitated his presence at the event. The insider added that Lisa would not have wanted him there.

Lockwood Is Currently In The Mix For The Lawsuit

As of March 12, Lockwood was in the news having filed a petition to become his daughters' guardians concerning the ongoing legal battle. Lockwood wants to represent the twins, according to court documents obtained from the Los Angeles County Superior Court.

An insider for ET made it known that after the Mad Max: Fury Road actress became aware of her grandmother's action, she was "disappointed." The source relayed that Riley was looking to keep the family together and in a "positive light." However, Priscilla's actions were reportedly driving them further apart. They included, "It's upsetting to her as she does want to have a relationship with Priscilla, but at this point in time they are not close."

The Pair Are Not Communicating

After the lawsuit was filed, Riley and Priscilla ceased all forms of direct communication as they left it all to their attorneys. It was also shared that while Riley would have loved to settle the matter in private, it is clear that this option is already out of the question. The duo is currently preparing for their court appearances.

Priscilla's Intent

Los Angeles-based probate David Esquibias stated that "for some reason," Priscilla does not want Riley to wield power as trustee without her. According to the 2010 trust, Riley and Priscilla were to share the responsibility. However, with the 2016 amendment, the matriarch is displeased.

Another Los Angeles-based probate Benny Roshan told People that Priscilla's biggest advantage in the filing is the fact that the 2010 trust stated that parties must be informed before changes were made. Roshan noted that Priscilla could have the upper hand in the court looking into this.

Siegel Will Still Be Left Out

Through all of these, Priscilla is the only co-trustee who can regain her access to Lisa Marie's trust. Back in 2018, the late Lisa sued Siegel for mismanagement of funds and ties were severed at the time. This will leave the possibility of Priscilla and Riley as co-trustees.

Despite all the details of the legal issue going on insiders insist Lisa wanted her kids to take over. Joel Weinshanker, a managing partner at Elvis Presley Enterprises stated that the entertainer, who died at 54, wanted her children to oversee the trust.

Riley Is Currently Focusing On Her Career

The Presley family is gearing up for the court actions, but Riley has not lost focus of her acting career. The star has been active, and her latest project, Daisy Jones & The Six is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The actress also has her hands full as she navigates motherhood.
