The founder of Babydoll Beauty Couture and star of the WE show, Super Sized Salon, Jamie Lopez, passed away over the weekend.

News surfaced on Monday that Lopez passed over the weekend due to heart complications. This comes just months after the first season of Super Sized Salon began airing.

The Babydoll Beauty Couture Official Instagram Account Issued A Statement Late Last Night.

"On behalf of the Babydoll Beauty Couture team, we regretfully announce, with great pain, the passing of The Founder & Owner of Babydoll Beauty Couture, The Legendary Jamie Lopez," the Instagram post reads, accompanied by photos of Lopez alongside her employees and loved ones.

"We ask, on behalf of the Babydoll family, that you allow us time to process this tremendous loss," it continues. "Further details and arrangements will be announced soon. We have suffered an extraordinary loss and appreciate the time and space to grieve in peace. Please keep our Babydoll family & team lifted in your hearts and prayers."

Thousands of fans and former clients expressed their deepest sympathies to the company, Lopez's family, and her friends.

Lopez Was A Champion Of Body Positivity And Inclusivity.

Super Sized Salon followed Lopez on her journey to build a beauty salon based out of her hometown of Las Vegas, Nevada. The salon, Babydoll Beauty Couture, specializes in catering and being inclusive to all body types.

In an interview with The Mirror, Lopez addressed critics of the show, who had a problem with her seemingly glorifying obesity. In response, she stated that "People need a safe space and I am going to give them what they need."

At her heaviest, Lopez weighed over 840 pounds. She was bedridden and did much of the conceptualization for her salon from there. Lopez was able to lose 400 pounds and had to undergo physical therapy in order to learn how to walk again.

Over the years, Lopez worked multiple jobs in order to make her dream salon a reality. She also released a memoir called Big Fat Lies, which chronicled her struggles with health and weight loss, as well as her experiences being bedridden.

Lopez Was Preparing To Film The Second Season Of 'Super Sized Salon.'

Super Sized Salon was a massive hit for WE, and fans were eagerly awaiting the second season of the series. Sources close to Lopez state that, before her passing, she was preparing to film the second season.
