Tom Holland will never work out with Jake Gyllenhaal again, and here's why! The actors collaborated on Marvel's Spider-Man: Far From Home in 2019, leading to a friendship, we never anticipated.

During their press tours, they endeared themselves to the public with their banter and chemistry, making the actual movie more interesting.

However, as far as Holland is concerned, their friendship wouldn't reach joint gym sessions again because the first experience was tough. Gyllenhaal has an intense routine, which was much for the British actor.

The Gym Session That Changed Everything

Holland and Gyllenhaal went for a joint gym session, as he narrated to Stephen Colbert, but the former wasn't keen on it. He didn't know how to refuse, so he went with the flow and regretted his choice.

Firstly, Holland went into it for the wrong reason - competition. Then, he didn't know when to tap out. The duo started with abs and leg exercises, and Holland thought that was it until Gyllenhaal asked if he wanted to hop on the treadmill for a warm-up session!

Not Giving Up

Holland's competitive spirit made him accept, and they decided to up the ante to two miles on the treadmill despite his co-star suggesting a mile. A few minutes into the run, they had 3.5 km left but Holland's "never say die" spirit made him push for 4. Gyllenhaal throws him for a loop when he asks to go up the incline because "it was too easy."

At the end of the entire exercise, Holland could barely walk, and when asked during a press conference, the actor chalked it up to being his stuntman.

Gyllenhaal and Holland continued their rivalry on-screen in the second installment of Kevin Feige's Spider-Man trilogy featuring the latter in the titular role. The 41-year-old played Mysterio, the super-villain who conned Peter Parker into relinquishing an A.I. gift from Tony Stark, attempted to kill him, framed him for murder, and later exposed his secret out of vengeance. It's an interesting movie if you're into lighthearted superhero flicks.

A Lifelong Friendship

Beyond on-screen and gym rivalry, the duo has a close friendship as seen on social media. The older actor enjoyed working with Holland and promised to be there for him throughout his career and personal life.

Holland helped him overcome his anxiety about joining the ready-made MCU during filming. Here's hoping this bromance will last forever.
