Are you thinking of getting into gardening or growing flowers, but aren’t sure where to start? Don’t worry, I’ve totally got your back.
Here’s a list of flowerss that you absolutely cannot kill. And if you do… maybe consider some fake ones ?
Marigolds
She’s so pretty! Marigolds are very easy to take care of, trust me. They bloom in the spring, summer, and fall! They like their soil on the drier side, and love full sun.
Pansies
Pansies seriously look like tropical flowers. If you live in a warmer climate, they can even bloom in the winter! They need regular watering and can bloom in partial shade.
Snapdragons
If your summers are cool, your Snapdragons might bloom from spring right through to fall! They like full sun and regular watering at the base of them. Make sure the soil is well-drained.
Sunflowers
Okay. You can’t kill a sunflower. You’ve got this! They enjoy full sun (big “duh” there) and loamy or sandy soil. Just make sure not to over-water it, and you’re good to go!
Cosmos
A Cosmos plant will take you from spring to fall! It’s a quick grower that likes its soil on the dry or sandy side. Allow the soil to dry between waterings and grow them in full sun.
Morning Glories
A Morning Glorie will usher out summer and welcome in fall.
Zinnia
Man, I would be so sad if you killed a Zinnia. Keep it alive for me, okay? You’re going to need rich soil, to water it moderately, and full sun. You can do this!
Sweet Peas
Sweet Peas really are sweet! These super fragrant flowers bloom in the summer in warm climates and the fall in cool ones. They like loamy soil that is well-drained, full sun, and to be watered at their base.
Begonias
Guys, I love Begonias. They’re so gorgeous. Their leaves are as beautiful as their flowers! They’re happier in partial sun and with consistent watering, as long as you don’t over-do either.
Daffodils
Ah, Daffodils. Another total classic. Put them in a partly sunny home and watch them bloom like crazy! Not only are they fragrant, but they bring total cheer with their beautiful colors.
Geranium
From early spring to late fall, Geraniums are gonna stick with you. They like rich, well-drained soil (who doesn’t?) and full sun. These are great apartment plants, especially if you have a window box!
Daylilies
Daylilies totally invoke hibiscus flowers to me! They can handle almost any type of soil as long as they’re in full sun. Just make sure to water them pretty deep in the summer!
Dahlias
If you don’t live somewhere overly hot and humid, a Dahlia is definitely the flower for you. They bloom within weeks, prefer a sandy soil, and thrive best in full sun.
Impatiens
Impatiens is such a classic-looking flower. Seeing a bloom of them in a planter just signals that it’s almost summer, you know? They want to be moist (but not overly so) and thrive best in part shade.
