When it comes to celebs, you never know what’s going to come out of their mouths.
It could be Kayne West spewing nonesense as per usual or celebs throwing shade at other celebs.

That’s right, there are a lot more Brits in Hollywood than you’d think.
1. Christian Bale
As an actor who lives a private life, a lot of people weren’t privvy to his real accent until he gave his acceptance speech for the Golden Globe he won for Vice .
Truth is, he was born in Wales .
But since he moved around a lot as a kid, his accent is more in tune with someone from London.
Another reason people were so surprised by his accent is because, as a method actor , he’s used his American accent during interviews in the past.
He has also said he considers himself English instead of Welsh.
2. Tom Holland
The British actor had his work cut out from him when he took on the role of Peter Parker AKA Spider-Man.
He wasn’t just playing an American; he was playing one from Queens, New York .
The actor even once recounted the hilarious time they had to redo a scene in *Spider-Man: Homecoming* since his accent slipped.
“There is one scene—I guess [dialect coach] Rick [Lipton] wasn’t there that day — where I went full English. And for some reason, no one picked up on it,” Holland revealed to Cinema Blend .
3. Florence Pugh
This talented actress, born in Oxford, United Kingdom , is a truly a master of hiding her English accent.
She did so in Midsommar , Little Women , and even in Black Widow when she took on a Russian accent.
She told *Elle UK* that she was actually terrified of trying her voice at a new accent.
“I was scared because my Russian accent was going to be out there and I didn’t know what it sounded like,” she said.
Thankfully, the film received high reviews.
4. Daniel Kaluuya
A lot of people were first introduced to Daniel in Jordan Peele’s horror thriller, Get Out in 2017.
But those who saw Black Mirror before this knew that he’s actually British, having been raised in London .
5. Andrew Lincoln
The biggest clue that The Walking Dead actor is actually British is the fact that he starred in the British rom-com, Love Actually .
He did many British roles for two decades before taking on the US stage.
6. Hugh Laurie
Like Florence Pugh, this actor was also born in Oxford . His best known role was on the popular TV series, House .
It was actually this show where his accent would sometimes slip. Oops!
7. Henry Cavill
Just when we thought he couldn’t be any more handsome, we go and find out that Henry has a British accent.

Maybe it was that scary Bane mask that hid his accent so well in The Dark Knight Rises .

But Hardy *is* an English actor who was born in Hammersmith, London, United Kingdom.
Despite this, he’s always preferred doing American films , as one of his first major roles was the HBO series, United States Army .
9. Millie Bobby Brown
It’s hard to believe that Millie was only 12 when she starred in Season One of Stranger Things . That’s because she had the American accent down pat!
She was actually born in Spain , but her family moved back to the U.K. when she was four.
10. John Boyega
The Star Wars actor may have played the character, Finn, with an American accent, but he’s actually from London.
He told Heat Vision that he spent a lot of time working with the dialogue to make the accent flow.
“It’s complicated when American writers write for British actors,” he said.
“They use words like ‘awesome.’ They just don’t flow well with this accent. So I made a lot of changes to make it more naturalistic.”
There was one American-based film, however, that worked his British acent into the film: Pacific Rim .
11. Kate Beckinsale
The Resident Evil actress has fooled us all for years. She was actually born in Chiswick, London.
The actress was even surprised that her daughter , Lily, who she shares with ex, Michael Sheen, has her same accent despite going to school in America.
“The first day she went, she came back furious, and said, ‘Why does everyone keep looking at me and why are they telling me I sound like Harry Potter and who is Harry Potter and why are they telling me I sound like a boy?'” the actress told *People*.
“And then she figured out it was kind of cool, and she worked it,” she said .
12. Charlie Hunnam
While watching the actor ride a motorcycle on Son’s of Anarachy with his blonde hair blowing in the wind, you might have stopped and thought, “‘Merica.'”
But this actor was actually born in Newcastle, England .
He’s tried his hand at British films before, but the US has always given him more success.
For instance, when he did the movie, Green Screen , he ended up on a list of the worst Cockney accents . Yikes.
