However, that’s exactly how TikTok user Allie was proposed to recently.
Posting the video on the popular video-sharing app, Allie showed her boyfriend spinning their blooming onion around only to find a ring hanging off one of the slices.
“Allie, why don’t you take one from this side,” the boyfriend asks, turning the plate around to reveal the ring.
“Will you?” he asks as he looks at his girlfriend lovingly.

After Allie asks in disbelief what’s going on, her boyfriend asks her again: “Will you?” while gesturing to the ring.
The caption reads: “Let’s just say, our love is BLOOMIN’ #TalkCurlyToMe.”
I never imagined deep-fried food being so romantic but hey, you’ve gotta love kids today and their unexpected ways!
The comments were filled with love for the newly-engaged pair.
“If he doesn’t pop the question with a blooming onion is he really the one,” wrote one user.
