A woman is now asking her TikTok followers to name what she thought was a feral cat after discovering the previous owners of her new house had abandoned him.
There are so many families out there who get excited at the idea of getting a new pet, but the sad reality is that this enthusiasm doesn’t always last.
Because while it’s clear in some cases that p eople will love a pet dearly but feel unable to care for it due to hard times, others will demonstrate their total disregard for animals in how they abandon them.
Regardless of how inconvenient a cat or a dog is in somebody’s life, they deserve better than to be thrown out with the trash .
But while one former cat owner’s negligence didn’t go quite that far, the woman who bought their house revealed in a TikTok that they still put its life at risk by leaving it behind.
On June 1, a woman named Julia Davis uploaded a video explaining that her new house came with a cat.

By that, she meant that she discovered this white cat living in a run-down chicken coop on the property.
And while Davis initially thought this was just an oddly well-behaved feral cat, she would later learn from her new neighbors that her house’s previous owners simply left him behind when they moved.
It was a mystery to Davis as to why they would do that considering how sweet and sociable she found the cat.

And it was obvious to her that however long they previous owners had been gone, it was enough time for the cat to start showing some concerning signs of neglect.
As she said, “He has obviously not been to a vet in a while, his ears are pretty torn up, he clearly hasn’t been brushed in a while.”
So after she ensured that the cat was properly fed and hydrated, she ended up making a veterinary appointment for the “beautiful guy.”
And in the meantime, she asked her followers for some potential names for him because she intends to keep him.

With that in mind, she also had some choice words for the previous owners.
As she put it, “To the person who left this cat here, I hope your AC goes out this summer. I hope every side of your pillow is hot all the time. I hope your phone charger only works at a certain angle. Kick rocks, eat sand.”
Naturally, the comments on the video you see here soon filled with suggestions, with one of the most popular being Casper because he’s white and came with the house just like the famous ghost.
But while Davis shared in a follow-up video that she hadn’t quite landed on a name yet , she seemed to be leaning towards another popular suggestion: Coop.
Obviously, this was inspired by where she found him, but it’s also short for the name Cooper. She both liked this name on its own and for how it sounded next to her dog Remy and her other cat Finn.
Whatever the cat’s name turns out to be, it seems like it’s already found a much more loving family than it had before.
