Australian actress and producer Deborra-Lee Furness has recently alluded to her ex-husband Hugh Jackman’s alleged rumors around an affair with another actress.
Over a year after going their separate ways, Deborra-Lee Furness subtly confirmed her ex-husband’s affair with her co-star Sutton Foster. Both Furness and Jackman had shocked their fans when they announced their split-up back in September 2023 after 27 years of marriage.

The actress hinted at the rumor on social media
On November 13, the 68-year-old actress had social media users intrigued when she ‘liked’ a video by the gossip blogger Tasha Lustig from her private Instagram account.
The video claimed that Hugh Jackman, Furness’ ex-husband, was “running off with the mistress,” according to Us Weekly.
The blogger also said he was making plans
In the video, blogger Tasha Lustig also said that Jackman was making plans to “soft launch” his relationship with co-star Sutton Foster.
As if liking the video herself wasn’t intriguing enough, the situation was further hinted at by Furness’ friend Amanda de Cadenet, who commented on the post on October 26th.
Her friend’s comment raised eyebrows
Cadenet commented on the video saying, “You are on point with this one. My beloved friend Deb is about to have her glow up any moment fyi!”
This, paired with Furness liking the post, have shed some interesting light on the latter’s split from Jackman in September of last year.
A source spoke about their relationship
A source told US Weekly: “She has suspected Hugh of cheating on her and he adamantly denied it over and over. This is what would hurt the worst.”
They also added that the couple’s marriage, which had almost lasted three decades, was based on honesty.
Their marriage was seemingly solid
The source continued speaking about the pair’s marriage, “They based their marriage on honesty. But if Hugh didn’t physically cheat, she knows that he did emotionally.”
“She wasn’t going to be the one to break anything or say anything and she still won’t be speaking out,” they continued.
The source further spoke about Furness’ social media activity
“Her liking a simple post is the most subtle thing she could do that would have the greatest impact and it cannot be proven in any way shape or form that it was a jab to him. It’s left up to interpretation,” they said.
Jackman and Foster were co-stars in The Music Man
Back in March 2020, Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster had begun working together on Jerry Zaks’ Broadway production The Music Man.
They took on the roles of Harold Hill and Marian Paroo and spent nearly a year performing the musical at the Winter Garden Theatre.
The pair have attended events together
The video liked by Furness claimed that Jackman and Foster would have to ‘soft launch’ their relationship to test the waters in order to avoid harsh criticism.
The pair have been attending events together since the opening night of their musical in February 2022.
Sources say Furness was worried about the teamup
Sources told the Daily Mail that Furness had had concerns regarding Jackman and Foster pairing up for the musical production in 2022.
“Deborra-Lee had her suspicions when Hugh started working with Sutton. Their relationship is not a secret to her,” the source said.
The rumored couple are said to be happy together
Foster has spoken highly of Jackman, telling Vogue that he is “incredibly kind, and generous.”
A source also told Page Six that Jackman and Foster are “100 per cent together and are in love and want to spend the rest of their lives together.”
