Another day, another strange situation over at the Wheel of Fortune . Now look, it’s been a chaotic week, and everyone is preoccupied with what happened at the 2022 Academy Awards , but it’s safe to say Wheel of Fortune fans are ready to get rowdy get again after they feel a contestant was denied their rightful prize.
Oh, Pat Sajak — what are we gonna do?
The beloved game show “Wheel of Fortune” is coming under fire (again) this week after fans claim the show’s rules robbed a man of his rightfully deserved prize.
Let it be known that if I were to be a contestant on any game show on earth, it would certainly NOT be Wheel of Fortune .
Why? Because the smallest error will totally ruin your chances of winning anything — Pat Sajak doesn’t mess around.
On Wednesday night’s episode, contestant Chris Davidson had the answer to the puzzle on the tip of his tongue, but a tiny error cost him an $8,400 trip to Puerto Rico.
Attempting to solve the puzzle phrase “frozen concoction,” Chris said “a” at the beginning of his answer. “A frozen concoction,” he said before correcting himself and removing the “a.”
While it might not seem like much, this tiny technical error meant his opponent got to solve and win the prize.
I know, right? There is no game show on earth with such strict rules!
“Chris knows what he did, which is why he went back,” Pat Sajak explained, as per ET . “He threw in that article. He threw in the “A” in front of it, and we can’t accept it.”
“Just the way it goes. It’s just one of the rules, and we gotta go by ’em, and Carol ends up getting the trip to Puerto Rico.”
As you can imagine, this loss was frustrating to watch for fans, who soon took to social media to express their thoughts.
“He should be permitted to correct himself. I think the contestant gets so excited that they accidentally add something that doesn’t belong,” tweeted one fan.
“Wheel should really change their rules,” they added .
I totally agree!
