US President Donald Trump made a bold statement on social media, claiming that the Russian-Ukrainian war wouldn’t have happened if he had won the 2020 “rigged” elections.
Ever since Trump took over in January, things have been rocky. The ongoing tariff trade war has shaken the world, and now, his controversial statement that things would have been different if he were president in 2020.

CBS shared an interview with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy where the Ukrainian leader talked about attacks on civilians, specifically about a recent missile attack killing nine children in Kryvyi Rih.
Trump responded afterwards
Trump threw the blame on former President Joe Biden, saying on his platform, Truth Social: “The War between Russia and Ukraine is Biden’s war, not mine. I just got here, and for four years during my term, had no problem in preventing it from happening.”
“President Putin, and everyone else, respected your President! I HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS WAR, BUT AM WORKING DILIGENTLY TO GET THE DEATH AND DESTRUCTION TO STOP,” he continued.
He blamed it on the “rigged” elections
“If the 2020 Presidential Election was not RIGGED, and it was, in so many ways, that horrible War would never have happened. President Zelenskyy and Crooked Joe Biden did an absolutely horrible job in allowing this travesty to begin,” the president added.
“There were so many ways of preventing it from ever starting. But that is the past. Now we have to get it to STOP, AND FAST. SO SAD!” He concluded.
He sued the outlets
“I am so honored to be suing 60 Minutes, CBS Fake News, and Paramount, over their fraudulent, beyond recognition, reporting,” he wrote on his platform.
“They are not a ‘News Show,’ but a dishonest Political Operative simply disguised as ‘News,’ and must be responsible for what they have done, and are doing. They should lose their license!” He added.
It wasn’t just about Ukraine
Trump claimed that the outlet covered two stories, “one having to do with Ukraine,” and another “was having to do with Greenland, casting our Country, as led by me, falsely, inaccurately, and fraudulently.”
He even accused them of doing everything they could for Kamala Harris
He confirmed that 60 Minutes “is being sued for Billions of Dollars for the fraud they committed in the 2024 Presidential Election with their Interview of Failed Presidential Candidate Kamala Harris.”
He also claimed that the outlet mentioned “the name ‘TRUMP’ in a derogatory and defamatory way,” which didn’t sit right with him, hence his bold statement.
