Who here grew up eating potatoes ? It was definitely one of the staples in my house. So as an adult, I started making mashed potatoes since I can remember.
But I recently stumbled upon a #FoodHack that swears to give your boiled potatoes more flavor. I’m all for that, so I thought I would share it with all of you. Check it out.
What is your favorite way to eat potatoes?
I admit, I love french fries the most, but I also can’t say “no” to mashed potatoes, ha, ha! They’re so good. Am I right? However, this one TikTok video claims that they have an even tastier way to make them.
I mean, what? How dare they say that?
I thought my mashed potatoes were the best, hee-hee. On a serious note, let’s see exactly what they mean when they say the tastiest. Are you curious, too? Let’s go and find out.
So let me ask you a question?
How do you make mashed potatoes? I just boil them in water. After they’re done, I drain them and add all my favorite flavors. Is that what you do too? Hold on a minute then.
Apparently, that’s not the way to do it.
You see, this lady here is cooking the potatoes in milk instead of water. Come again? She claims that they will be more flavorful that way. OMG! Why haven’t I thought of that?
The potatoes absorb the water anyway, so why not just cook them in milk?
Aha! Isn’t that such a cool idea? What do you think of that? I mean, look how creamy they look already. So there must be something to it.
After the potatoes finish cooking, just add your butter and other seasonings if you like.
And then, of course, mix everything to your desired consistency. Check out this video to see how the final result looks. Wow! It’s pretty yummy, I bet.
As it turns out, I’m the only one who never heard of this idea.
I agree with this lady here. It does make sense. I just never really thought of it. I guess I just followed what my mom did.
However, a few other people chimed in and offered this concept instead.
Hmm! I have to admit I like that, too. After all, I use chicken stock for many things, so why not for boiling potatoes? What do you think?
So what’s your take on this food hack here?
Would you do it like this from now on? Or do you prefer the chicken stock idea more? I’m on the fence here. I think both methods are worth trying out. That’s what I’m going to do to see what I like more.
