When you think of Dancing With The Stars you think of glitter, rockin’ moves and TOM BERGERON! So when the news broke that the longtime host of the ABC show will not be returning for the upcoming season, fans were shocked!
Even more surprising, it seems like Tom didn’t even know about it until the rest of the world did.

But the one face that has remained UNCHANGED for fans is that of host Tom Bergeron.
We all know a TV show host makes or breaks a show and, needless to say, Tom friggin made DWTS !
So IMAGINE my reaction when Tom tweeted that he was no longer working on the show.
“Just informed @DancingABC will be continuing without me,” Tom tweeted.
“It’s been an incredible 15 year run and the most unexpected gift of my career. I’m grateful for that an for the lifelong friendships made.”
He concluded, “That said, now what am I supposed to do with all of these glitter masks?”
Tom’s cohost and fellow bubbly personality Erin Andrews will also not be returning next season.
Erin has been with the show since 2014, so her presence will be also be greatly missed by fans!
If you’re wondering WHO MADE THESE CRAZY DECISIONS, I have just the people to blame!
The decision is a result of the show’s production companies, ABC and BBC Productions, who claim they are heading in “a new creative direction.”
“Tom Bergeron will forever be part of the Dancing with the Stars family,” the companies said in a joint statement.
“As we embark on a new creative direction, he departs the show with our sincerest thanks and gratitude for his trademark wit and charm that helped make this show a success.”
With regard to to Erin, the statement said, “we appreciate all that she brought to the ballroom.”
“Fans have been rooting for her since she originally competed as a contestant back in 2010, and her signature sense of humor has become a hallmark of the show,” the statement added.
Fans are disappointed that the beloved *DWTS* hosts are being cut from the show, and took to Twitter to express their disappointment.
Tom is one of the most kind and recognizable faces in television history. I’m not surprised at the backlash!
“*DWTS* will never find someone who can handle all of the challenges of live tv as well as you did. You are a class act in how you are handling the announcement, which is a rarity in your field. Wishing you only the best in whatever you choose to do next,” tweeted one fan.
“Bad enough they have gotten rid of a lot of beloved dancers but now Tom too? I am done,” tweeted another.
*Queer Eye* cast member Karamo tweeted out his appreciation for Tom’s talent.
“You will always be 1 of my host hero’s (I mean ur book gave advice in the beginning) thank you & enjoy this next chapter. It will be great,” he tweeted.
However, some fans said they would stop watching altogether: “That means I’m done with the show! You’ve been the only thing keeping it going since the “celebs” have been mostly reality TV castoffs,” tweeted one fan.
