Every now and then, you end up coming across something really cool. You may just say, “hey, that’s cool,” and leave it at that. Or maybe you’ll remember the rest of the world and take a picture of it.
We love when people share. It makes the world so much more fun. And the cool things that people shared in this list? So awesome.
“Going back through sewer inspection photos and I realized something had been looking back at me from the bottom of a 12-ft deep sanitary manhole.”

Cool? Yes. Creepy? Also yes. But don’t worry; from the looks of it, it’s probably just a stray cat or something. No clue how it would’ve gotten down there, though…
“How the background lines up with the reflections in this building.”

That’s pretty awesome. I bet the weather conditions have to be super specific for this kind of thing to happen.
I don’t know what’s cooler, the fact that the reflection is so clear, or the fact that the horizon lines up with the actual one in the background.
“Saw this awesome Metallica plate on the freeway today.”

Even if you aren’t a Metallica fan, you have to admit that this vanity plate is really cool. This is one car I’d actually be proud to drive in (if I owned it, that is).
Where do you even get a frame like that?
“I saw this car painted like Lightning McQueen on my way home from work.”

While I wouldn’t necessarily want to be seen in a Lightning McQueen car, I appreciate the effort. The paint job looks really accurate to the character himself, which means there’s at least one person out there who really loves Cars .
“What the inside of a grocery meat case looks like.”

This feels like one of those things we’re never supposed to see. Like, the meat shelves always have things on them, so why would we ever need to look at the inside part?
Still, it’s a pretty cool sight to see.
“Coffin clock at a local funeral home.”

That’s definitely fitting. Though none of us love being in a funeral home (for the obvious reasons), things like this are still kind of cool to see.
Still, it really sucks that the only way you’d see such an awesome clock is while attending a funeral.
“Gothic Victorian decorated for Halloween in Columbus, Ohio.”

Because Victorian houses are inherently gothic, and anything gothic is associated with Halloween and creepy things, the decorations on this house just feel so right. Too bad Halloween only happens once a year, because I’d love to see this kind of decor all the time.
“Local northeast Ohio chicken joint’s new logo.”

This is a pretty clever sign. The fact that the r and period in Mr. (plus a little beak) make up a chicken face? Genius.
And it’s so simple, too. I could definitely see myself going here if I were ever in the area.
“This leaf shows the changing of the seasons.”

Ah, now that fall is in full swing, we’re going to be seeing a lot of leaves changing colors (especially in the north). And some will do this, where they only partially change colors, creating a kind of cool gradient effect. It’s like a distant memory of summer.
“My local supermarket still sells VHS tapes.”

Imagine going to the store in 2021 and buying VHS tapes. I don’t think I’ve seen one anywhere other than a second hand store in, like, a good 15 years. But I guess to some they can still be useful.
“Someone with the same ~25 year old car model as me parked directly behind me at the park.”

I wonder what the odds are of two people having the same car from several decades ago, plus being in the same place at the same time. Like, do you think either of them knew? Probably not, which actually makes the whole thing even better.
“I saw another plane while flying.”

I wonder how close one plane can get to another before it becomes dangerous. Like, obviously this distance isn’t a problem. But how much closer could they get? Probably not that close.
Still, that’s probably the only thing you’d want to see in the sky while flying, and it’s cool!
“The wonderful nurse who did my lumbar puncture (spinal tap) in the hospital let me take a picture of my cerebral spinal fluid!”

How many of us can say we’ve seen our own cerebral spinal fluid? Probably not a lot. But we can all say we’ve seen this person’s cerebral spinal fluid, which is still pretty neat.
Looks like the procedure went well, too, which is always good.
“These lampposts that follow the tunnels curvature.”

This is pretty interesting idea for tunnel lighting. Otherwise, tunnels get really dark and that’s not idea (especially if they have walkways). Safety first, but the element of style that’s in there is also very much appreciated.
I kind of wish these street lights were in more tunnels around the world.
“Our local science museum put a googly eye on a dinosaur skull they’re excavating.”

I mean, I guess there’s no harm in sticking a googly eye on a priceless paleontological artifact. It’s not like the eye is going to hurt it in any way. In fact, it makes that scary-looking dinosaur skull look a lot less scary.
“My college used to be a shopping mall.”

I don’t know how many of us can say we’ve gone to college in an abandoned mall. Seeing one in a picture is probably the closest most of us will get, which is honestly fine.
I don’t think I could go here. I’d keep wanting to go shopping instead (even though there are no stores).
“A roundabout inside a tunnel in Norway.”

Personally, I’d probably be too nervous to drive around a roundabout in a tunnel, but the way this looks is so cool, I’d do it anyway.
Seriously, why does this whole tunnel, roundabout and all, look like a stage in Mario Kart? It’s so pretty!
“A Tree Guy came out today… his business cards are made out of wood.”

I’m not really sure what a tree guy is… but this is a pretty cool business card. Maple is not a cheap wood, so hopefully people won’t just throw his card away.
And honestly, it’s pretty memorable, too. A cool business tactic for sure.
“These snickerdoodles I made where you can see the cinnamon decrease per cookie.”

Apart from making me really crave snickerdoodles, these cookies are kind of satisfying to look at. The ones with a lot of cinnamon look cool and crackly, while the ones with less cinnamon look really smooth and kind of sandy. So cool!
“The way the railing goes around the beam.”

I guess some beams you just can’t get rid of. This is probably the best way to adapt a design to the limitations of a space, because the beam doesn’t cut through anything. It looks like this designer actually knew what they were doing.
