Since last week’s Beyoncé-Jay-Z-Nicole-Curran debacle, we’re finally finding out exactly what Nicole was saying to Jay-Z that fateful night at the Warriors vs. Raptors basketball game, and it’s a game-changer (pun intended).
There is a good chance that by now you’ve caught a glimpse of Beyonce scowling off into the distance as another woman leaned over her to talk to her husband, Jay-Z.

And while it looked bad, there is a little bit more to the story.
If you haven’t heard the infamous tale yet, allow me to fill you in.

Last week Beyoncé and Jay-Z attended the NBA finals — Warriors vs. Raptors in California, where they sat next to the owner of the Warriors and his wife, Nicole Curran.
At some point in the evening, somebody caught a video of Nicole leaning forward, talking to Jay-Z.

And Beyoncé’s face told us everything we needed to know. Or so we thought
Fans immediately jumped to the conclusion that Beyoncé was not happy.
At first, it was hilarious. But things quickly boiled over and became a lot more serious.
The clip went viral, and Beyonce fans all over the world were bombarding Nicole’s Instagram — commenting bumblebee emojis on all of her photos.

It got so bad, she had to disable her comments on social media altogether to avoid the harassment.
The Hive had a LOT to say.
This Twitter user seemed pretty excited about the concept of Bey getting some inspiration for her next album. Picture it: Lemonade 2: Even More Sour This Time .
Some of it was pretty funny.

Beyoncé definitely nudged Nicole with her shoulder, and although it was probably just an accident, some of the tweets about it were pretty funny, like this one that makes note of her rare Burberry.
Some jokes were not so funny.
Considering the real life death threats this poor woman was on the receiving end of, this is either in really poor taste or an eerily accurate prediction.
Yep. You read that right. Death threats.

ESPN reporter Ramona Shelburne tweeted that she had been in conversation with Nicole, who said she had been on the receiving end of death threats and even disabled her Instagram account.
She offered an explanation for what everyone saw.

Seems pretty believable to me — definitely more believable than a married woman attempting to seduce someone else’s husband while that someone else is sitting right there.
There we have it.

She was leaning slightly over Bey so that she could hear Jay’s drink order better. That should be that, but nothing is ever that simple when the Hive is involved.
She called it what it is — cyberbullying.

A lot of adults who haven’t grown up in the time of social media kind of bypassed the era where they might be cyberbullied, so this was a wake up call for Nicole.
Nicole posted a photo of her and Beyoncé looking cordial that same night, hoping to calm down the Beyhive — but it only made them more hostile.

“We should all help and support each other,” she captioned the photo.
But Beyoncé also posted a photo of her and Jay-Z at the game with Nicole visibly cropped out.
This, in combination with her sour-looking expression, while Nicole was talking to Jay, really gave fans the impression they had a reason to hate Nicole.
Although Beyoncé didn’t defend Nicole directly, her publicist did step in to try and tame her fans.

She posted this photo, along with a caption addressing the situation.
“I also want to speak here to the beautiful BeyHiVE,” she announced.

“I know your love runs deep but that love has to be given to every human.”
She explained that fans shouldn’t be spreading hate in the name of Beyoncé — because this is obviously not something she supports.
“It will bring no joy to the person you love so much if you spew hate in her name. We love you,” she added.

Unfortunately, that was not enough to put out the fire.
Nicole had to completely shut down her Instagram — but not before addressing the situation herself.

Nicole bravely faced the Beyhive, letting them know that she has no interest in Jay-Z and that the entire thing has been blown out of proportion.
“Listen Beehive. I respect Queen B. I love her! I talked to her husband twice,” she wrote.

“First, to take a drink order for them both when they arrived as they were our guests,” she went on.
“Second, to explain why I gave his wife a rose from a fan.”
She added that the video was taken entirely out of context when she was, in fact, just trying to be a decent host.
“All of this has been taken out of context.”

“I am a happily married woman. Telling me to kill myself?????? Somehow I don’t think she would support this,” she said .
We know damn well that Bey would definitely not support what the fandom has been saying.
But hopefully, this all blows over so that Nicole can go back to her normal life — free of death threats and harassment from Beyoncé fans.
Hopefully Bey tells her fans off soon.
Recall the Hive! It looks like a lot more people are allergic to bees than we thought. Do you think the Queen B should take responsibility for the hive and tell them off? Or do you think it’s not her job?
