The 50-car derailment burned for several days and initially presented a threat of explosion, but the emergency has since been controlled. Last week, evacuation warnings were lifted, but there were still ongoing reports of sick and dead animals in the area.

According to the Ny Post , officials revealed on Tuesday that the train cars contained more hazardous chemicals than originally thought.
The other toxins on board included isobutylene, Ethylhexyl acrylate, and ethylene glycol monobutyl ether, which can have negative health effects ranging from mild irritability to bloody urine or nervous system depression.

To ensure the safety of nearby residents, the Environmental Protection Agency is currently working on screening the air and homes, but they added that they had not yet found any worrying levels of toxins.
