When it comes to interior design, it’s truly up to the homeowner. I’m not here to tell you what couch to buy, how big your TV should be, or what type of comforter you should get for your bed. What I am here to tell you is what the Property Brothers think are the two worst colors to paint your walls.
When it comes to home design authority, there’s a hierarchy of HGTV stars I trust.
At the top of that list is, of course, The Property Brothers Drew and Jonathan Scott and Chip and Joanna Gaines — obviously.
And don’t get mad — Erin Napier is a close second, okay?!
Regardless of your thoughts about my take, I’m here to tell you what Drew and Jonathan think are the two worst colors to paint your walls.
On a recent episode of Property Brothers: Buying and Selling Drew and Jonathan Scott weren’t thrilled when they saw two colors gracing the walls of client Roseanne’s home, as originally reported by Realtor.com : Red and yellow.
“Yellow walls don’t really sell these days,” Jonathan quipped, implying that Roseanne would be better off picking a different color if she wants to sell her house.
I found this kind of surprising — yellow is so bright and happy! I would never not buy a house if it had yellow walls, as long as they weren’t mustard yellow. Yuck!
However almost worst than yellow is the other paint offender, red.
At one point in the episode, Jonathan warns that they have to “get rid of that angry ’90s red wall.”
Bye-bye, red room!
What do you make of these hot takes? Do you have any red or yellow walls in your home? Let us know in the comments below!
