The festive season brought about an unexpected twist for this family, with their teen dad son staying home to care for his baby. Their decision, meant to encourage responsibility, instead sparked a family feud, with relatives expressing disappointment and questioning their parenting choices. The grandparents’ lament over missing their great-grandson’s first Christmas added fuel to the fire. The mother, now second-guessing their decision, is left in a whirlwind of guilt and confusion. NTA. Time to start alternating between 3 families at Christmas?

NTA…logistically but maybe AH emotionally. Growing up sucks even at the common ages of dealing with babies/holiday logistics… as a parent you want your children to be adults when they deal with kids and holidays. That isn’t the case here, that’s life. You do have other, younger children too. I respect that you thought of them and their needs, I respect that he was committed to HIS young family. I think for this year an alternative plan could’ve been made or your family trip changed to a different time of the year when the baby is older. You do NOT HAVE to accommodate his now young new family but it would’ve been nice for YOU as a family unit (meaning your home). Idk what you all have gone through, I cant imagine the stress you all are under of this huge life change. Maybe you guys needed to get away, maybe your younger siblings did need to be the priority for the holidays idk but other holidays will happen every year… maybe be creative in your travel times & consider your immediate household needs first.
