Blake Lively and Taylor Swift relationship seems to have ‘halted’ according to sources close to the singer after she was dragged into the legal battle between Lively and her It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni.
Swift was subpoenaed last week
This comes after Taylor Swift was subpoenaed by Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, who believed the singer should be present in court as she was there during an integral meeting about the movie where Baldoni claims he felt intimidated.

Taylor’s team fought back
Following the subpoena news, Taylor’s team fired back at Freedman’s moves, saying, “Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie, she was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film, she did not even see It Ends With Us until weeks after its public release.”
There was a claim that Lively threatened her
Only recently, Baldoni’s legal team also alleged that Lively had threatened Swift to make her publicly support her in the high-profile legal battle, a claim which has since been denied by Lively’s lawyers, as per People.
Insiders are saying they’re taking a step back
Since then, insiders have said that Swift and Lively’s friendship is at a low point. “Their friendship is halted,” a source close to Swift said, adding, “Taylor wants no part in this drama.”
The two have been friends for over a decade, with a friendship that can be dated back to 2014 and Swift being the godmother of Lively’s three daughters.
Another insider said they were taking some space
Another insider has also said that the two are “taking some space,” but emphasizes that they’re “not no longer friends.”
They explained that the subpoena has “fractured” the “fragile peace” between Lively and Swift.
Gigi Hadid seems to also be taking a step back
Insider sources have also shared that model Gigi Hadid, who is friends with both Lively and Swift, seems to be taking a step back from her friendship with the former.
“Gigi feels terrible that her close friend is being pulled into the legal drama,” a source close to Hadid said.
They said she’s ‘taking Swift’s side’
As per People, the source close to Hadid added, “Gigi is closer to Taylor and has definitely taken her side in this whole drama.”
“Gigi doesn’t want to get involved in this whole ordeal, but she is closer to Taylor and has distanced herself from Blake although she still considers her a friend.”
This comes after Lively initially sued Baldoni
Back in December, Lively filed a lawsuit against her co-star and director of It Ends With Us, Justin Baldoni, alleging he sexually assaulted her on set and then proceeded to launch a smear campaign against her.
Baldoni has fired back since then, filing a countersuit accusing her and husband Ryan Reynolds of extortion and defamation.
The two are due in court in March 2026.
