Do you ever see a picture that’s so strange, baffling, or striking that you can’t help but stare at it? Whether it’s something super out there, or just something you’ve never seen before?
These pictures will leave you staring for quite some time. It’s like they have some kind of magnetic hold; they’re just so strange or unique that it’s going to be hard to look away.
“Found a Radio Shack still operating in the Dells.”
You know, I figured that Radio Shack was a name from a bygone era. I don’t think I’ve seen one in years , so seeing one still standing, seemingly untouched by time is kind of cool. And definitely very rare. Talk about a real blast from the past.
“Excessive rain resulted in huge blueberries.”
There’s nothing special about these blueberries, except for the fact that they’re huge ! I guess this is what happens when they’re overgrown? And a lot of rain in a short period of time will do that to plants.
I can’t get over how big they are. I just can’t stop staring.
“My dog who stands up to see my neighbors dog over the fence.”
To be fair, you’re probably going to stop and stare at any dog you meet. This one is going above and beyond by standing on its hind legs. This in itself is probably the most interesting thing we’ll see all day.
I hope the doggo got a good view of the neighbors.
“A neighbor’s radiator fence.”
Hmm. Okay. That’s a fence. Made out of radiators. You definitely won’t see this every day.
I can’t tell if this is genius, or just plain weird. On one hand, it’s a way to reuse old radiators. But on the other hand… It’s a fence. Made out of radiators. Weird.
This strip of tree bark that looks like a bellybutton.
Okay, that’s a little bit uncanny. I know that it’s a strange piece of bark with a knot in it, but the way it’s sitting all curved like that makes it look like a human bellybutton. Which is just weird. Why can’t I look away?
“Every day for about 10 minutes The sun reflects off of a small solar panel on my neighbors house and creates a silhouette of my head in my office where I sit.”
I can tell you right now that if the sun created a shadow like this in my office space, I would stop and stare at it for as long as it was there. Look how cool that is! It’s like having shadow puppets, but it’s a person’s head, and during the middle of the day.
“Forgot a beer in the freezer… It didn’t explode!”
Well. This person is pretty lucky, all things considered. That beer bottle could’ve totally exploded everywhere in the freezer, getting glass and frozen beer stuck on everything. As it is, there’s a weird beer trail coming out of the top, but it could totally be worse. Good luck drinking it, though.
“The restroom at this restaurant is a retired bank vault.”
I’ve seen plenty of strange bathrooms, but I don’t think I’ve seen one that has a bank vault in it. Uh, at least yo know you’d be peeing in maximum privacy?
Yeah, I dunno. It’s just too weird for words.
“Didn’t Know UPS Had Trailers…”
Is this an actual thing? Are UPS trucks equipped with extra trailers these days? I’ve never seen one like this before. It’s either brand new, or super uncommon.
And it just feels unnatural . Like, this truck shouldn’t look this way. It’s not an 18-wheeler, after all. It’s just a delivery truck.
“The sunset over Northwest Indiana last night.”
You might think that the sun looks really pretty in this picture, and you’d be right. But if you didn’t know, a red sun like this is the result of smoke from wildfires. Which is less than pretty. It’s so hard to stop staring, but just knowing red sunsets are happening around the continent makes me feel bad.
“Mushroom growing on top of another mushroom.”
Oh kay. That’s just. I honestly don’t even know what to say.
I swear, the mushrooms have been running wild this summer. Everywhere I turn, someone is posting a weird mushroom they’ve found in the wild. But I’ve never seen one growing on top of another one. This is just so odd.
“A friend moved, I helped. Saw a single block of clay and asked if I could keep it. Later realized it said 1oz of Flesh.”
Not much to say here, except that I’m seriously hoping it isn’t actually flesh. Or at the very least, it isn’t human flesh, right?
Right?
“Fire Hydrant in the Middle of Nowhere.”
I’m sure this fire hydrant has some sort of reason. Like, maybe it’s to be used in case of a forest fire? Still, it’s really weird that it’s just. On its own. With nothing else around.
And I can’t say why, but there’s something really eerie about it being out in the middle of nowhere.
“This tree with a ghostface.”
I’m sure the tree just looks like that by accident. I’m sure that there are no actual ghosts in the area. Yeah. No way it can be haunted… right?
In all seriousness, it’s pretty funny how we can perceive shapes in the most random places. Like weird, ghostly faces in random tree trunks.
“These super wide rims on this Audi.”
I feel like this car would cause accidents, and not just because those rims are hazards in their own right. How many people do you think stare that car down while driving? They’re much too distracting. And unnecessary. And honestly? They aren’t even that nice.
“Someone in the Netherlands clipped their bike to a chair and found it sufficient enough to not get stolen.”
Well, it looks like it’s doing a pretty good job so far . I’m sure whoever locked their bike to a wooden chair decided that anyone trying to steal it wouldn’t want to bother. It would be too much effort to get the chair off, so I’d believe it would be a good theft deterrent.
“I accidentally exposed a roll of film before developing and it made this creek look like blood while preserving the rest of the colors.”
This is honestly really cool. I can’t help but stare at it, not just because of the spooky red river, but because the whole thing is kind of awesome. It took me a while to spot the person on the bridge, though.
“Car parked at Starbucks driven with no tire and missing a lug nut.”
This is the kind of picture you might not want to stare at for a long time, but end up doing so anyway. The more I look at it, the more stressed out I get. Tell me no one actually drove on that wheel.
“Napa Black tomato from my garden.”
I know that there are probably thousands of different species of tomatoes, but black ones? That’s new. It’s cool, though, and very striking. I’m finding it hard to take my eyes off of. I’m willing to bet that you feel the same way, too.
“Saw this beauty around Phoenix.”
This car… sure is colorful? I’m sure someone out there loves it (or else they wouldn’t be driving it around. In public). I couldn’t picture myself ever wanting to be a passenger in this car, let alone the driver. But to each their own, I guess.
“Found a Minecraft grass block in Paris.”
It’s kind of funny, out of all the amazing sights to see in a city like Paris, this is probably the one I’d be staring at the most. It’s just so random. I wonder who made this Minecraft block in real life, and why?
“Nature’s music, this tendril shaped like a treble clef.”
Nature sure is amazing, isn’t it? Do you think the plant did this by chance, or did someone come by and move the stems in just the right way? Probably the former, but it just looks too much like the musical symbol to be a coincidence.
“Found this full sized carrot in my bag of baby carrots.”
There’s something really weird about this picture. It could just be that sense of something you aren’t expecting, though. Baby carrots are called baby carrots for a reason, and this regular sized one is, well, too big. It just feels off.
“These underwater statues I found in a canal in Copenhagen.”
Looks totally normal…until you look a little closer. Are those statues supposed to be there? And do they serve any artistic purpose, or are they only there to freak out locals and tourists alike? Because I can tell you right now if I ever saw that, I’d probably scream.
“Mushrooms growing out of my old mop.”
The only explanation for this that would make sense is that the mop is so dirty, it allowed mushrooms to grow on it. And honestly, that’s just gross. I don’t even want to know what kind of bacteria is all over that mop, because I’m sure it’s enough to get you really sick.
“Conjoined bluegill with four eyes caught in the Finger Lakes, NY.”
Could you imagine if this were real? It would be a pretty freaky fish. But if you look closely, you can see lines where it looks a bit more edited than like an actual fish.
I mean, whether it’s real or doctored, I still can’t stop staring at it.
“The reflection of my TV makes it look like Girl With the Pearl Earring is in my backyard.”
At first, I thought the famous painting was on this person’s neighbor’s wall for some reason. But the more you stare, the more you can see that it’s just a reflection. At least it makes for a cool optical illusion.
“This Toad my mom woke up to in her toilet. No clue how it got in.”
I guess it’s better to walk in and find a toad in your toilet than to find it after you’ve already sat down on the seat. At least this way, you didn’t have to risk touching it.
But, uh… how are you going to get it out of there?
“Lesson learned! Don’t forget to bring your Advil inside! They don’t do well left in the heat.”
I totally didn’t know that Advil capsules melted together in the heat. But I guess it make sense, since those gel capsules are pretty soft to begin with. It must suck, though, having all of those pills that are essentially ruined. Hopefully this person didn’t need to use any of them.
“Extra long scissors for wrapping paper.”
I can see how these would be useful for wrapping paper. But they’re still way too long. Like, uncomfortably long. and sharp, too. You could really hurt yourself on something like this if you aren’t careful.
But because they’re so long, I literally can’t stop staring.
