There’s no denying the term “cancel culture” is a buzz phrase in 2021. Everyone has their own opinions about what cancel culture has done to well, the culture. While I don’t think cancel culture is always the solution, I think we, as a society, need accountability culture.
Now, actress Sharon Stone is letting fans know how she feels about the trend.

The idea of “canceling” a celebrity or social media figure has become very popular over the past year.
It often occurs after something problematic is resurfaced or said by a celebrity or influencer.
While many times these situations come as an opportunity for education and an apology, others are quick to get angry that the behavior was called out at all.
Some things that have “fallen victim” to cancel culture recently are Pepé Le Pe and a select few Dr. Seuss books I promise you have never heard of.
When I say these things were “canceled” I mean the executives that represent these brands felt the books, or characters, didn’t align with their direction in 2021.
Now, actress Sharon Stone is speaking out about cancel culture.
While chatting on Jenny Hutt’s SiriusXM show, “Just Jenny” the 63-year-old didn’t hold back when asked about cancel culture.
“I think cancel culture is the stupidest thing I have ever seen happen,” she said.
“I think when people say things that they feel and mean, and it’s offensive to you, it’s a brilliant opportunity for everyone to learn and grow and understand each other,” she continued.
“We all come from different ages, different cultures, different backgrounds, different things, and have had different experiences, different traumas, different upbringings, different parents, different religious backgrounds, different everything.”
“Give people an opportunity to discuss things before you wipe out their entire person over a statement or a comment or a misunderstanding stop being so small,” Sharon added.
“The world is bigger. People have done so much more than one sentence. Like grow up. Grow some empathy,” she concluded .
