Remember the young boy in 1970 standing on a Coca-Cola box trying to reach the microphone? That’s Donny Osmond ! Few people have been in showbiz for as long as he has, and his marriage… stronger than ever! The talented singer has just revealed some secrets about his forever-lasting relationship with his wife, Debbie.
It’s Been A Long Time

Only a few people can boast of 60 years in show business, and that’s precisely what Donny Osmond has under his belt. Although there have been ups and downs with his career — once called a has-been at 21 — Donny has managed to keep it all standing alongside his 45 years of marriage to Debbie.
Little Beginnings
Donny had an early career compared to most performers today. At 5, Donny had already taken center stage, which is the direct opposite of what children his age were caught up with.
The Driver Talk

A funny memory from the Daily Mail , Donny talks about a time he figured he was probably old. The Puppy Love star singer mentions when a driver asks him if he was a performer or stage manager at the Donny Osmond Show —what he likes to call “work.”
Donny responds to the incident, “I said, ‘Er, I’m Donny.'” Continuing his statement with, “The driver stopped the car, turned right round and said, ‘You mean you are one of those lookalikes? Because you’re not the real Donny Osmond. That guy must be about 90 now.'”
Famously Virgin

Donny Osmond has been known for his stance on his beliefs, values, and attitude toward his s*x life. Before his marriage to Debbie in 1978, the star singer was already famous for shying away from girls and his pure virginity.
The Elder Brother Thing
The 65-year-old singer wasn’t always with his wife, Debbie, all the time. Being teenagers in the same town, Donny shared that she once had a thing for one of his older brothers.
Faithful Donny

When asked about his faithfulness to Debbie in their 45 years of marriage, Donny confirms he has been faithful to her. In his words, responding to the question about fans wanting to have their way with him, he says, “I didn’t let them in!”
Reference To Paul Newman
Then, he mentions another faithful fellow, Paul Newman, who has been known for his one-woman-only principle. He says, “I remember someone asking Newman, ‘Why don’t you fool around?’ And he said, ‘Why settle for hamburger when you’ve got steak at home?’ That’s how I feel.”
She Could Kill Him

He better stay true to Debbie, or he might no longer be a living legend. Adding to the Paul Newman reference, Donny says if he doesn’t stay faithful, “it would all fall off a cliff, and, you know, I love my wife and it’s going to stay that way.”
Family First

Speaking on his secrets to a successful work and personal life balance, Donny says he is all about putting his family first. His philosophy about how he wants his career to go “was to never get in a situation where my children thought my career came before them. I have seen others make that mistake, and you can’t come back from it.”
Adding, “Even now, if one of my children phoned, I would take the call. I try to make my grandchildren’s concerts. Family first, always.”
It’s Hard, But Make It Work
What does it take to run a successful marriage? Donny says hard work. “We work very hard. A successful marriage doesn’t just happen. I don’t want to paint the picture that we are just Pollyanna-ish or very lucky. We’ve had challenges and arguments over the years.”
Challenges Of A Successful Marriage

Like any marriage, there are good and bad times. Speaking on the not-so-great times, he says, “But at some point, you have to ask, is it really worth falling out over, or is my ego getting in the way of having to be right? I like to joke that when we argue, Debbie is always right – but I’m only half-joking.”
The Counseling Talk

After years into a marriage, you’d think they should start a marriage counseling company; well, not for the Osmonds. The One Bad Apple singer reveals that his wife once asked them to go for marriage guidance classes after 35 years together.
Never Fought It
Calmly, he said, “I did ask why. She said our marriage was good, but she wanted it to be better.” Despite the perceived absurdity, it might seem like Donny says he was cool with it because “that would be the ego talking again, wouldn’t it?”
It Didn’t Happen Though
Well, they never went to the class. Not because Donny managed to convince Debbie otherwise, but because of his tour, he wasn’t exactly around at the moment. Then, he adds a few words, “It would have looked a bit odd, wouldn’t it? The rumors would have been flying.”
Their Children

Donny and Debbie Osmond have a wonderfully large family and are always happy to talk about it. The aging couple has five children (all boys) and 13 grandchildren.
The Hope Chest
Discussing the possibility or if they ever imagined having a daughter, Donny says, “Do you have hope chests in the UK? It’s a chest you get when you first marry that you put all the things you wish for your future children. Debbie filled it with little dresses. After five boys, we started to call it the ‘no hope’ chest, and she eventually gave the dresses away.”
There Are Daughters Now
The good news for the pair, they have daughters now, even though it took their children to give them one. Donny also shares that he is now a grandfather to two lovely girls.
Life’s Secret of Survival

Revealing his unique view of work and personal life and how he manages it all, Donny shared a personal quote to describe his secret. He says, “It’s about rebuilding the house of cards that fell down. You start putting the cards back up again – with glue this time.”
The Donny Osmond Tour

Mr. Puppy Love isn’t done with music! The legendary singer is back and ready for his upcoming music tour in the UK from November to December 2023.
