Cher is one of the most famous women in the world. She’s friggin Cher , after all. She’s a one-name wonder. She is an icon. She is a timeless beauty. She also has one of the biggest hearts in Hollywood. Seriously, it feels like she is always doing amazing things for her fans and the world.
Remember when she helped save that beautiful elephant a few months back ? Now, she’s giving us another heartwarming story by surprising a fan with a special FaceTime call.
Not to sound dramatic, but music is one of the most important things humans have ever created.
Music connects people from all around the world. It adds lightness in dark times. For example, I don’t know how I would have gotten through 2020 without my ABBA CD collection because yes , I still have CDs!
Of course, another artist I love and that brings me happiness is Cher.
Cher is the epitome of a pop queen. Her career, which spans over 7 decades, has garnered her millions of fans around the world.
One of those fans is TikTok user Erica Steiner’s mom, 60-year-old Robin Steiner. Robin has early on-set Alzheimer’s disease and finds much comfort in Cher’s music after being her biggest fan for ages.
On Monday, Erica took to Twitter to share a TikTok video featuring her mother, writing that her mom has Alzheimer’s “and is @cher’s biggest fan.”
The video clip captures the moment when Erica’s mother realizes who’s on the other end of the call.
“I love you,” she tells Cher before breaking into tears.
“I can’t do this. It’s too much,” she adds while smiling.
If that wasn’t sweet enough, Cher stayed on the call for nearly 10 minutes with the mother-daughter duo, which was recorded for Erica’s YouTube channel.
Robin went on to reveal her favorite Cher song is the singer’s iconic duet with ex-husband Sonny Bono, “I Got You Babe.”
Cher joked that the first time Sonny played her “I Got You Babe” she told him it was “c**p” which earned big laughs from Erica.
Later that day on Twitter, Erica explained how exciting the call was for herself and her mom.
“I still can’t believe this really happened I’m shaaaaaking,” she tweeted. “They had a whole ten minute conversation!”
What an amazing and meaningful gesture from one of the greatest of all time!
We love you, Cher!
