Now, this couple is celebrating their 25th year of marriage which is essentially a lifetime by Hollywood marriage standards. To celebrate, the Sex and the City star is sharing a sweet detail from their 1997 nuptials.
Let’s take a moment to bask in the glory that is Sarah Jessica Parker and her husband, “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” star Matthew Broderick.

The pair, who first met in 1991, tied the knot in 1997 after five years of dating and rocking Hollywood to their core with their powerful love story.
Their wedding took place in New York City (of course) in front of 100 of their closest friends and family members.
As fans will recall, SJP famously wore a black wedding dress.
For the fashion icon, it made total sense. For a bride, it was a shocking choice.
When asked as to why she chose to wear black instead of a traditional white gown, Sarah told “People” magazine that a wedding itself wasn’t something she ever thought of.
“ I never thought about a wedding dress. Never. Had not one daydream about it,” she admitted.
Now, SJP is celebrating 25 glorious years of marriage to Matthew with a heartfelt Instagram post and an inside look at a sweet wedding detail.
“Evening Attire. Silver baby. 25 years. And counting. X, your wife,” she captioned a beautiful photo of the pair.
In the next photo, fans get a look at the pair’s wedding invitation from 1997.
