Is anyone else feeling really, really tired and unmotivated lately?
It’s weird. I used to have all this energy and dive inside of me, and I felt like the damn Energizer bunny, just running around with a never-ending battery to keep me moving. But more and more I’ve found that battery has seriously drained to the point where just making dinner feels like an unreasonably hard chore.
I’m sure some people out there can relate to that, right?
It’s not that we don’t want to be productive.

Believe me, I have a mental “to do” list that’s about 400 pages long, and I would love to tackle each and every item so that one day I can consider that never-ending list finished.
But sometimes life hits you a little extra hard and you just lose all motivation.
It can be tough feeling like we aren’t even in control of ourselves.

Why are my brain and body so disconnected lately? Why can’t I find it in myself to do everything that I know needs to be done and that I want to do?
What’s even happening to me anymore?
When I get feeling this way, it usually takes some serious trial and error before I find a remedy.

Sometimes that means throwing back mug after mug of coffee until I’m literally buzzing around my apartment, leaving a hot cloud of dust in my wake.
Other times, that means settling down and shutting off my brain for a few hours. It’s just like taking a rest day in between workout sessions so our muscles can heal — honestly, our minds need a little break sometimes, too.
Maybe tonight you make dinner, or maybe you order in because you definitely deserve a night off.

Life can kick us pretty hard sometimes, something which I’m sure we’ve all realized more than ever lately.
But as long as we forgive ourselves for feeling like we need a break, and then actually give ourselves that break, we can trust we’ll be right back to our usual, productive ways in no time.
And that to-do list will always be right there waiting for ya when you are.
