What are your dating dealbreakers ?
Is it a man who lacks good communication skills or someone who stands you up? These reasons are pretty universal since they sum up one crucial thing: they’re not dating material .

But is it fair to say that a man’s not dating material because of the way he talks, or the fact that he can’t drive ? To some women, that answer is yes.
Here are 19 petty reasons a woman won’t date someone.
If their burrito order s***s
Hey, to each his own! A red flag on a burrito order could be someone who only gets meat and cheese, no vegetables. Or, someone who goes way too heavy on the sauce or guac. Food compatibility is important!
If they can’t put up a tent, or sunshade, or just aren’t handy
“I get so frustrated when people just stand by and act incapable, or worse they’re actually incapable. If I’m shoveling sand into bags to weigh down a sunshade, and they’re over there just holding a pole and looking lost and uncoordinated, it’s not gonna work.” – u/ throwawaycf4cf4321
Their voice
One woman shared that she won’t date a guy if she doesn’t like his voice. Some examples could be a high-pitched voice or vocal fry. She admits that it’s a shallow turnoff, but she can’t get past it.
Picky eaters
“I love trying new things and going to new places to eat. I don’t want to be with some guy who will only eat potatoes and rice and whine whenever he can’t find the most basic things on a menu. That just screams ‘boring’ to me.” – u/ Proof-of-existence
Car guys
You know the type: all they care about are their vehicles. They basically spend all their time tinkering around and showing them off at car meets.
One woman wrote that these guys should just date the car instead.
If they have a female best friend
“I know people are allowed to be friends with whoever they want, but I’ve had bad experiences in the past, because of which I find it difficult to trust guys who have female best friends.” – u/ _imbeyoncealways
If they’re really outdoorsy
These are the kind of guys who have hiking photos all over their dating profiles. Since they spend almost every weekend outdoors, this won’t work for women who are homebodies and prefer to spend time on the couch.
If they talk bad about anime and or gaming
“It was a huge part of me growing up. They might not like those things, but don’t talk s**t about it when they want to date me. I won’t badmouth their hobbies either, and I expect the same from my partner.” – u/deleted
Certain careers
Some women are out once they learn that a man is a police officer, firefighter, or a member of the military.
They believe that men in these fields usually have an ego-centered personality. Plus, wives have to deal with their husbands being gone a lot.
Bad hands
“I physically feel unwell when a guy with bad hands touches me in any way. If I see his feet and they are weird too it’s a no for me.” -u/ No_Presentation562 . This could be tons of calluses or fungus vomits
If they’re really into sports
It’s a hard life being the wife or girlfriend of a man really into sports. It means that weekends are often reserved for the game and you have to baby them if their team loses.
If they’re really into golf
“It’s a boys’ club and full of d********s. If I see ‘golf’ as a hobby on a dating site I am out. Very #SaturdaysAreForTheBoys ‘alpha male’ mentality more often than not. I’m all set.” – u/ AgitatedEggplant
If they don’t like animals
First of all, this means that they’re insane. Second of all, it means that you’re signing yourself up for a life of no dogs or cats, or other pets.
So in the case of “it’s them or the dog,” we choose the dog!
Their shaving habits
“Clean shaven, 5 o’clock shadow, beard = acceptable. If you shave your facial hair into any other form apart from those listed above it’s not happening. ESPECIALLY that little tuft of hair under the lip. Nothing can give me the ick quicker than that little bit of hair.” – u/ gotthemondays
They play video games
This isn’t just a couple of rounds and that’s it for the day. These are the guys who spend hours playing on consoles or PCs. One woman shared that she’s seen too many relationships fall apart as a result.
A guy who’s too tall
“I discovered that roughly 6’0″ was my upper limit for finding someone attractive. I get tired of having to look so far up to make eye contact, and really don’t like having to stand on tiptoes to kiss. Since then, anyone over that height doesn’t even register as a potential love interest.” – u/ Mojojojo435
Not having a driver’s license or car
One woman wrote that she doesn’t want to spend her life taking buses. Nor, does she want to play taxi driver for anyone.
It would also be annoying if the guy expects to drive your car since he doesn’t have his own.
Bad spelling or grammar
One woman shared that when her first boyfriend wrote her a love letter full of mistakes, ugly sentences, and poorly-picked quotes, she just started falling out of love. For some women, language is very important to them.
They have small thighs
This gives some women major ick. They want to be able to sit on their boyfriend’s lap without feeling like they’re going to fall off. It also makes them feel weird if their thighs are bigger than their man’s.
