Your first time can be a truly strange experience. There is a large chance that it will be terrible and an even larger chance that something crushingly embarrassing will happen! However, you will share a strange bond with the person that you lose your virginity to for the rest of your life, even if you don’t end up staying with them.
One curious person wanted to find out how people’s relationships with the person that they lost their virginity had progressed after the event, so they took to Reddit to ask, “What happened to that person that took your virginity? Where are they in life?”
So, here are a collection of some of the most bizarre, funny, and tragic stories that people had to share.
Lost At Such A Young Age
“He passed away at 19 after suffering a seizure in his sleep. We’d broken up about 6 months before. Its been 10 years, but every once in a while I still wonder who he’d be today.” — k_isom
Losing someone so young and in such a sudden, shocking manner can blindside anyone. If you have ever experienced something like this, then it can be a struggle to process how to mourn and move on because you feel that your time with that person has been robbed away. However, it is so important just to focus upon the good times that you have had with the person you’ve lost, as dwelling can only negatively impact you.
In Prison
“In jail for child abuse and recording it.” — GoneThroughHell
They wrote that the person who had abused them as a child was their parent. They said that they only wish they had gotten him caught earlier.
They’re Now Related
“She’s now my step-sister…” — ThisIsBuzzard
They posted an edit to give some context. The pair had been in a relationship and then broke up 6 months after they had gone to uni. After the break up, their parents had started dating and have since moved in together. Thankfully, they explained that the pair are very civil when both are staying over at their parent’s house. Must be a strange atmosphere though.
They Chose An Odd Profession
“She joined the circus. In an administrative capacity, but it’s less fun to say that way.” — rokr1292
They explained that she had specifically worked for Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, before it shut down. Imagine being with a circus performer, just constantly pulling handkerchiefs out of places you don’t want them to be pulling handkerchiefs
Never Met Them Before Or Since
“Probably dead. I lost my virginity to a heroin addict for $40. I don’t even know her name.” — reddragon2073
They went on to write that afterward they got themselves checked for STDs as they became quite panicked. They also wrote that during their late teens they had been addicted to a lot of drugs and had lived quite a dangerous life; however, they have now been clean for a year. Anyone can turn their life around, you can always get help if you need.
The Saddest Story Of All
“It’s very sad really, he’s married to me.” — ilovetotransfuse
There’s nothing wrong with staying with the person your first time is with. They also revealed that they met when they were eight, and started dating when they were 12. They have now been married for six years, and hopefully, it’ll last for many years longer!
They Lost Touch After Getting Pregnant
“I was 12, and she was 13. She got pregnant. I heard a 26yr old took responsibility. Apparently she was having s*x with anyone willing because she wanted a baby. I never saw her again. I was never really sure it wasn’t mine. No idea what happened. I’m in my 40s. I think about her sometimes. I can’t imagine her life went well.” — User1539
This is a really strange situation. They went on to explain that they didn’t know that the person they were sleeping with was so intent on having a baby. Apparently, she was having s*x with around 6 other people at the time. This is the sort of thing that could easily mess up the lives of anyone involved, and it’s unsettling to imagine how someone could feel like this at such a young age.
Drug Addiction
“I saw her at a parade a while back. She had a couple of kids and looked rougher than I remembered. Meth’ll do that.” — TheDudeMaintains
Seeing those in our lives fall into drug addiction can be difficult. This person went on to explain that she had sadly adopted the habit early in life.
Infidelity
“Cheated on me, got fat, had a kid, cheated on that guy, had another kid, cheated on that guy, and now lives in her mom’s basement.” — MrHoopersDead
I guess it goes to show that being a bad person doesn’t pay off in the long run! Hopefully, this person didn’t develop any trust issues as a result of this, not everyone is bad after all.
Became A Doctor
“He is now an OB/GYN…. sometimes it makes me laugh that he sees dozens of vaginas a day, but mine was the first.” — jul1992
It’s good to know that you have clearly had an influence over someone else’s life, and helped inform their life choices. Well done!
Suicide
“She killed herself 13 years ago. She was a great person.” — p4lm3r
A lot of people commented on this particular story to share their own experiences. Finding out that someone who played such a specific part of your life has taken their own life can be a quietly devastating thing. This is of course especially true, however in a completely different way, for those who were still with that person at the time of their death.
They Rekindled Their Romance Years Later
“Weirdly enough I just got back in contact with him maybe 7 months ago to apologize for how things went down when he took my virginity (dad walked in, massive mess.) He’s been doing amazing in life, and we’ve now been together for about 6 months” — DickPuker
Divorce
“Man, haven’t seen her since she moved out and divorced me 5 years ago. I honestly have no idea what she’s up to, but I actually hope she’s found help for her mental illnesses and is generally happy. But she can stay wherever she is, I don’t need to see her again.” — xv9d
Sometimes, people who stay with their first partner can rush into things without really knowing enough about that person, or themselves. It can be important for some people to spend time figuring out who they are on their own. It’s good that this person hopes that their ex is happy though, it’s unpleasant to wish someone unhappiness.
They’re Still Friends
“We took each other’s virginity about 20 years ago. She’s a psychologist now, has her own practice, lives in SC. Still looks amazing, still does gymnastics. Married, Has two kids. We still talk once a year or so and are still friends after all these years.” — B_Addie
It is great when people can still remain friends with those whom they have been intimate with. There is no reason why it should be awkward!
Still Contacting Them For The Wrong Reasons
“Happily married and she’s running a fairly successful sweets catering service. Contacted me once when she had a big fight with her husband. I’m not a doorknob so I knew something was up. She was trying to affirm her femininity by pulling compliments out of me. I was over her by this point (years passed) but I offered her to be a friend and chat from time to time.
“Got ghosted two days later, and a common friend was asked to tell me not to contact her anymore. I said ‘That’s a pretty sh*tty attitude’ and later went out for a beer with that friend.” — Arxian
It sounds like you’re better with this sort of person not in their life. Calls to your ex are very rarely a good idea, and that is especially true in this case.
Living The Hippie Life
“He is pretending to be all zen living shoeless in the countryside. He was an abusive AH that broke my car’s windshield once when he was angry (I was inside the car) and left bruises all over my arms while he violently shook me against a wall another time, among some of my finest memories of this fellow.
“The day after we went to a bar and a girl teased me about my bruises looking like fingerprints. I felt dead inside at that moment. It took a while but eventually I learned better and broke up. He also cheated at me a few times. It was an enlightening experience that led me to choose a great partner to spend my life with, but he was a real piece of work.” — sheep_in_a_box
Became A Herbalist
“She became an herbalist out West and died a few years ago. My third GF died also and my first wife. I have a kind-of large pile of corpses of people I’ve loved for somebody who’s 63 years old and doesn’t murder people.” — Oknight
That sounds like just the sort of thing that a murderer would say to cover their tracks! Conventional crime show music plays .
In A Different Loving Relationship
“Single mom, 30 years old, with two kids. She seems like she’s a terrific mom and tries the best she can with limited resources. Thanks for the memories, Olivia, and good luck.” — thedominoeffect_
Died In A Car Accident
“He died in a car accident about 15 years ago. I found out when I was cyber stalking people from my past and found his obituary. It was quite sad finding that out. Just wasn’t the expected outcome of that particular internet search.” – floridaparalegal
Became A Lawyer
“She’s an attorney. She gave me some advice when I wanted to adopt a few years ago. Sweet girl, and still gorgeous 20-something years later.” – dookie1481
Some Things Never Change
“I haven’t seen her in almost 20 years, but apparently everyone still thinks she’s a b***h.” -fizzled112
A Bad Man Who Did Bad Things
“Last I heard he was in a jail for sexual assault of a minor.” -ty_james795
As disheartening as this is to read, we can at least find some comfort in knowing this monster got caught and was placed behind bars.
Unfaithful
“He’s married but he’s only been faithful to her for two years of their six year marriage. So.” -lynrenle
The poster later elaborated on this and explained that the man’s wife has only ever been with him, thus her reluctance to leave him. And apparently he resents her for him “having to settle.”
Lost Love
“Dead. F**k cancer. We did have an almost 25 year run though.” -damageddude
The poster later added that he lost his wife two and a half years ago and that both he and his children are starting to do better now.
Roomies
“She is my roommate and she has an amazing boyfriend. We are best friends” -blooodghoul
While it’s nice they can remain friends, I can’t be the only one who finds it just a little awkward to live with the person you lost the ol’ V-card to, particularly while they’re dating someone else.
She Could Definitely Be Doing Better…
“She is about 300lbs, really unhealthy, working part time at a Tim Hortons, has had no friendships or relationships in at least three decades, and is constantly begging for s**t on Facebook groups.” -MrDatasDoingus
Wishing Him The Best
“I have no clue, but I hope he was able to move on as I have. We both spent years mourning the loss of the relationship. I’m good now and I hope he is too.” -tanya6k
Unidentifiable
“I don’t even think I’d recognize her if I saw her. I don’t remember her name either. Does that make me a bad person?” -scarbux
There are inevitably some people who lose their virginity in …well, less personal ways. As long as it was safe and consensual, who are we to judge?
Crowdfunding Crowns
“She married some military dude, and had a hard life. Last I found her on Facebook she was promoting a GoFundMe so she could get new teeth. Had recently lost everything in a house fire. Has a couple of kids.” — sardineclub
This person also specified that she hadn’t lost her teeth in the fire, as a lot of people were considerably confused about how she had managed to loose her teeth in a house fire.
Died In A Car Crash
“Mine died in a car crash. It sucked. We were together at the time but had argued on the phone the night before. It was the only time I ever hung up without telling him I loved him and it was my last chance ever. It still haunts me.” — Tattooedunicorn
This person posted in an update that they are doing much better now, and acknowledged that sometimes life has both highs and lows.
