When you share intimate details about your life online, you’re opening yourself up to scrutiny.
One person who doesn’t care about this is Grace Matthews on TikTok. The wife and mother expected nothing short of anger when she proudly shared the rules she follows in her submissive marriage .

One celebrity who preaches a submissive marriage is Cameron Candace Bure.
The Hallmark Channel and Fuller House star has been married to her husband, Val, for 25 years. They were introduced in 1994 by Dave Coulier, aka Uncle Joey, from Full House .
“We were looking at these two cute men on the ice [at a charity hockey game] and I was like ‘I wanna meet that one, the blonde one,’ which was Val,” she told ‘Us Weekly.’
The pair got married on June 22, 1996, and welcomed three kids.
The couple is no stranger to controversy.
They certainly made waves when Bure shared in her book, Balancing It All: My Story of Juggling Priorities and Purpose , that she takes a “submissive” approach to marriage. This means leaving all of the major decisions up to her husband.
She’s referred to him as a “natural born leader.”
“I quickly learned that I had to find a way of honoring his take-charge personality and not get frustrated about his desire to have the final decision on just about everything,” she wrote.
“I am not a passive person, but I chose to fall into a more submissive role in our relationship because I wanted to do everything in my power to make my marriage and family work.”
Since her comments stirred up controversy, she explained more of their approach in an interview.
“The definition I’m using with the word submissive is the biblical definition of that,” she explained to the Huffington Post.
“So, it is meekness, it is not weakness. It is strength under control, it is bridled strength. And that’s what I choose to have in my marriage.”
Another woman who follows this biblical approach to submissiveness is Grace Matthews.
According to her TikTok bio, she’s a “wife, mother, and homemaker.” It also reads “Biblical Womanhood.” Like Cameron, a fellow Christan, Grace made waves in one of her TikTok videos on marriage.
While dancing to the song “Stay With Me” by Calvin Harris, the text overtop read “Controversial things about my marriage that angers people.”
She then danced to the song as she stated these principles. The first was that her husband gets the “final word.”
“If he says no, it’s a no,” the text read.
The next principle was “It’s not 50/50. It’s a covenant, not a partnership.” Finally, the third fact about her and her husband’s “controversial” marriage is that she tries to “honor/tailer things to her husband’s preferences.”
You can only imagine the kinds of responses she received.
She was clearly expecting drama as she disabled her comments.
She did, however, explain more of their marriage in her video, titled “What is biblical submission in a Christan marriage?”
After sharing many of the same principles, people were able to air out their thoughts.
“I really feel sorry for you,” one wrote. “Thank god there are women willing to take men like this off the market and save the rest of us from them,” another added.
“Oof, hon please leave this cult behind you’ll be so much happier,” a third wrote.
