The Nugget War: A Tale of Office Politics and Retribution
In an office where the majority are vegetarians, the non-vegetarian options become a hot commodity. Enter Amy, the ‘Chicken Nugget Queen,’ who hoarded all the chicken nuggets during a company lunch, leaving her colleagues hungry and annoyed. But karma is a dish best served hot, and when the tables turned, Amy found herself on the receiving end of her own tactics. The office is divided, with some siding with Amy, while others believe she got a taste of her own medicine. But, was it just about the nuggets, or is there a deeper issue at play? Let’s see what the world thinks of this delicious drama.

Amy’s greed for office nuggets makes her the a**hole. NTA.

ESH. But leaning toward YTA, which wasn’t where I thought I’d be going with this. What’s missing from your post is all the other times Amy acted weirdly selfish about food in the office. Or was the Great McNugget Incident of ’22 the only time that this has happened? If this was just the latest example of her greedy behavior, ok, I get it. It would still be nice to give someone a heads-up about their behavior, though. But from the info given, she did this once… and maybe she was having a terrible day. Maybe something else was happening. Who knows. (Amy is nearly bankrupt from unfair expenses and tragedy, eviction is imminent, and those smuggled McNuggets are for her starving children! Or she’s just seriously f’ing depressed. Or just kind of oblivious about her behavior.) And based on that one experience, you exclude her, without telling her she’s excluded, and let her blindly walk into that scene without knowing what the deal was. Now it IS telling that she didn’t first say, “oh! Is this spread for the office, or what?” But either way it’s a bit of a social sucker punch. Another commenter had a great solution of talking to her about it beforehand, giving her options. That would have been ideal. Now she’s The Other. Surrounded by people, but alone (cue dramatic music, turn film to black and white). Not great. I think we should give people at least one chance to be better. The world didn’t end though. You can still be nice to Amy!

Congratulations on the epic overshoot! ESH
