It’s the age of the #MeToo movement, and you can bet that Cardi B is in full support of it.
After one Twitter user dared to suggest that Cardi shouldn’t be flaunting her body, she spoke out and let us know exactly how she feels on the matter.
Cardi B is not one for sitting down and staying quiet.
In fact, she’s quite the opposite. She’s notorious for speaking out when she feels wronged, and I honestly love that about her.
Not enough people are willing to do that these days.
Recently, Cardi was featured in the City Girls song, “Twerk”.
The music video is pretty much what you’d imagine it to be.
Dozens of women having a great time, plenty of twerking, and booty galore.
Daily Caller video columnist, Stephanie Hamill, was not impressed with the video.
She questioned the video, wanting to know how it empowered women in the era of #MeToo.
Naturally, Cardi was there to clear up any misconceptions that Stephanie may have had.
“No still means NO,” Cardi tweeted, reminding everyone that women are still free to wear whatever they want, and it’s not an invitation to be sexually assaulted.
Honestly, good for Cardi.
It’s a great reminder that the #MeToo movement isn’t about shaming women who choose to dance, act, dress or speak “provocatively”.
Fans were very much here for the tea that Cardi served up.
At the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter if you liked the song or not.
You can still be here for women supporting other women.
Stephanie hasn’t directly responded to Cardi, but she was getting a lot hate from fans for saying what she did.
It seems like she doesn’t understand how her words were perceived.
It’s important that women like Cardi continue to speak out against those who feel the need to shame others for what they wear.
Our body, our choice. Thank u, next.
