If you haven’t canceled your Netflix accounts just yet, then good news: you’re going to get a movie worth keeping your account for.
Matilda is getting a musical adaptation in the form of a Netflix film.
As far as reboots go, this one is not that bad!
We all remember “Matilda”, right?

We all have a scene that stands out in our heads from the movie.
It’s probably the scene where that kid has to eat all the chocolate cake.
But the rest of the movie/book is pretty good too.

And now, like many other popular properties (see: Shrek ) it’s going to get turned into a musical.
According to The Hollywood Reporter Netflix has entered in an agreement with Sony Pictures to create the musical.
We don’t know much about it quite yet.

All we know is that the movie will be directed by Matthew Warchus (a man who has directed Matilda for the stage before) and it won’t be immediately coming to Netflix.
First it’ll do a theatrical and home release in the UK before arriving on the streaming service.

Matilda fans out there are probably really excited, as are Netflix users all around the world.
