There’s a lot to take in when you read the news these days, but especially when you see a headline with as much news in it as this one. Netflix is doing what with who doing what?!
The 1996 film *Matilda* is getting a reboot from Netflix.
This is already pretty exciting, and it’s not just any reboot! A musical version of the story Matilda The Musical ran on Broadway from 2013-2017, and it’s apparently this musical version being made for Netflix under the title Matilda , according to Deadline .
There’s no word yet on most of the casting or when it might start filming.
I know in my head that Danny DeVito is too old to reprise his role from the original film, but it’s like the old saying goes — the heart wants what the heart wants.
However, Deadline is reporting a surprising name attached to the role of Miss Trunchbull.
Apparently, Ralph Fiennes will be bringing the role of Miss Trunchbull to Netflix. Yep, that’s right — Voldemort himself. I guess he’s got experience with being evil!
In the musical version of the story, Miss Trunchbull is often played by a male actor, so it’s not unheard of.
I have to say, Ralph’s got an unnerving quality to him that might make him a great fit!
What do you think? Who should be cast in the Netflix Matlida ? Let us know in the comments!
